Platformers, beat-em-ups, and adventure horror highlight’s this week’s indie releases.

Here are TheGamer’s picks for the indie games that you should check out this week (May 3 – May 9).

Someday You’ll Return (May 5 – PC)

In the psychological horror game, Someday You’ll Return – from developer CBE software – players are put into the shoes of Daniel, searching for his daughter, Stela, who has run away into the dark Moravian forest yet again. Daniel is tasked with finding his daughter while meeting strange people along the way and uncovering the secrets of why Stela keeps running away to the woods that Daniel swore he’d never return to.

Pushy And Pully In Blockland (May 5 – PC, XB1)

Resistance Studios’ Pushy and Pully in Blockland provides gamers with retro co-op action that would fit right in at an arcade (if we were able to visit those right now). Players will need to work together in puzzles riddled with monsters in order to escape Blockland with a functioning spaceship and their lives intact.

Wintermoor Tactics Club (May 5 – PC)

Described as a “cozy tactics RPG,” developer EVC’s Wintermoor Tactics Club lets players relive their high school days all over again, albeit with a bit more mystery and wonder in this title inspired by tactics RPGs and visual novels.

Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl (May 7 – PC, Switch, NES)

You read that right. Not only will Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl be coming to PC and Nintendo Switch, the retro 8-bit beat-em-up will also be available as a limited physical collector’s Nintendo Entertainment System Cartridge, which makes sense considering the time in which the dynamic duo first graced the silver screen.

SuperMash (May 8 – Switch, PS4)

Developer Digital Continue’s SuperMash is a game that will, quite honestly, be different for every single player. With a mix-mash of six different genres available at any given time, a new game potentially awaits you every time SuperMash starts up.

Fury Unleashed (May 8 – PC, PS4, XB1, Switch)

In need of fast-paced, rogue-lite, platforming action? Developer Awesome Games Studio has you covered with Fury Unleashed’s action that takes place within the panels of a comic book.

Ato (May 8 – PC)

Tiny Warrior Games’ Ato is an emotional, atmospheric side-scrolling adventure featuring pixelated art and intense sword dueling action where one wrong move can spell certain death.
