Disney animated films have a way of making audiences wish a handsome prince would sweep them off their feet. Some of the earliest Disney animated films created some of the most well-known male princes to fawn over. For many, these male leading roles were their first official crush and who could blame them.

It also had many people wondering if they would look just as handsome on-screen as they would off-screen. Thankfully an artist thought the same. Jirka Väätäinen came up with the idea out of the blue in 2011. Let’s take a look at which real-life Disney princes’ art would have anyone’s heart fluttering just like it did the first time.

10 Kristoff (Frozen)

Frozen became a Disney sensation when it premiered in 2013. It broke the charts and even became a hit Broadway show. Fans couldn’t help but blush at the sight of Kristoff (Jonathan Groff). Yes, Kristoff isn’t originally a prince, but by Disney fan standards he makes the cut. The real-life character art created for him fits the animated version to a T.

Fans can see his rosy lips and flushed cheeks due to being in the harsh cold from being an iceman. Not to mention he has dirty blonde hair that sweeps across his forehead. Much like Anna (Kristen Bell), who wouldn’t fall in love with those light brown dazzling eyes.

9 Hercules

Instead of a prince, Hercules is more of a Greek god. Being a Greek god and son of Zeus means having some striking facial features. In the 1997 film, Hercules (Tate Donovan) had audiences swooning with his impressive upper torso. Hercules also had gorgeous red-colored hair that he often swept back will trying to impress his crush. The real-life depiction does him justice.

Väätäinen captured Hercules’ boyish charm while depicting his chiseled jawline and sharp nose. In the film, audiences don’t see much of Hercules’ lips being so full. But in the character art depiction, he has a noticeable pout as if in deep thought.

8 John Smith (Pocahontas)

John Smith (Mel Gibson) from the 1995 film Pocahontas was handsome army Englishmen of the time period. He certainly caught people’s attention in the film with his sharp jawline that could cut paper. Audiences could see why Pocahontas was enthralled by him at first sight. Smith not only has an amazing face structure but luscious shoulder-length blonde hair to match.

The character art version did a great job of capturing Smith’s smolder and sparkling blue eyes.

7 Beast (Beauty & The Beast)

Beauty & The Beast showed taught audiences that what really counts is what’s on the inside. Fans actually fell more in love more with Beast (Robby Benson) than his actual human form. It’s a running joke online. This real-life character art might have people second-guessing. The art did a much better job of bringing to life the crucial moment Beast reverts back to his old self.

In this version, he still has flowy and unruly auburn hair. The key difference is his facial features. He has full, pouty lips with a pointy and angular nose. He also has brows that many would be envious of. Beast also has impressive pectorals underneath that shirt.

6 Tarzan

Tarzan (Tony Goldwyn) is far from a prince but is still regarded as such amongst Disney films. Fans had a bit of a crush on the jungle raised man. It might be due to his sweet demeanor or his impressive six-pack. All in all, he was a character that fans couldn’t help but adore. Tarzan was turned into a live-action version in 2016. The vine-swinging man was played by Alexander Skarsgård.

While many agreed that he did a good job at the portrayal, the character art does it even better. It’s due to the intensity in the gaze and the striking eyes. Tarzan often looked at Jane (Minnie Driver) this way in curiosity and awe. The art also accurately portrays Tarzan’s very pointed chin and slim build.

5 Prince Naveen (The Princess And The Frog)

Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos) isn’t your typical “do no wrong” prince that many would expect. Instead, he was a musician and playboy who gets cut off for his irresponsibility. A majority of the film, audiences see Prince Naveen as a frog. He is a bit self-centered into why he was turned into a frog. Audiences do get to see his dazzling good looks before being turned into a reptile.

The character art did well in capturing Naveen’s charismatic smile and square jaw. It also did a splendid job at portraying his luscious short curls.

4 Prince Eric (The Little Mermaid)

Prince Eric (Christopher Daniel Barnes) is on the top of many Disney fans list of handsome animated princes. It might be because of his ocean blue eyes that sparkle from a mile away. It might also be because of his dark and wavy hair. Besides no one can resist his smile.

Many fans have long pegged which actor or celebrity would make a good fit to play Prince Eric in a live-action. It’s gonna be hard to find someone worthy who can be depicted as well at the real-life character art.

3 Flynn Rider (Tangled)

Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) is more of a renegade outlaw than a prince. But he proves himself to be good at heart and captures Rapunzel’s. Flynn is a character who prizes his good looks. He even gets upset over his wanted poster giving him an ugly nose. When meeting Rapunzel, he tries his supposed legendary smolder.

Instead of a smolder, the character art depicts him as more shy and bashful. It’s an accurate depiction of Fylnn down to his chocolate-colored hair. The art even appropriately depicted his facial hair. The animated version and character art both stay true to his well-known smirk.

2 Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty)

Sleeping Beauty is a classic tale of being awoken by true love’s kiss. Who wouldn’t dream of being smooched by a handsome prince? In this case its Prince Phillip (Bill Shirley). Prince Phillip is the epitome of what a classic prince would look like. The actual character was based on the looks of a 1950s actor, Ed Kemmer.

Compared to the animated version, the character art did so much better at bringing the prince to life. The tousled blonde hair, the brown eyes, and angular jaw make him seem more like an Abercrombie model. The real-life depiction of Phillip (Harris Dickinson) in Maleficent 2 comes in at a close second.

1 Prince Charming (Cinderella)

Many have fond memories of the 1950s film Cinderella. Above all, everyone was enchanted by the idea of a crown prince searching for you to return your glass slipper. Prince Charming (Jeffrey Stone) was everyone’s idea of a perfect guy- at the time. Prince Charming is just as his name describes.

He has a sweet smile that is perfectly depicted in the character art. The art version does change his eye color to blue. He is also one of the few princes with perfectly placed hair. The live-action Prince Charming in Cinderella (2015) got nothing on this version.
