Unlike American dramas, K-dramas have a way of building up to kiss scenes. A simple peck will make any heart race. Maybe it’s the soft glow of lighting, the multiple camera angles, or the soft and romantic music.

Some dramas keep it PG-13, while others amp up the feverish makeout. Fans can agree that besides the love triangles, family rivalry, and life troubles, everyone excitingly awaits the kissing scenes. It’s the cherry on top of a great show. When it comes to these scenes some take the cake as being steamier than a sauna.

10 Han Se-joo & Jeon Seol Past Kiss (Chicago Typewriter)

This drama has a fun twist to its story. Three characters that lived under Japanese rule in the 1930s are reincarnated in the present day. The drama interweaves their past lives and the present to uncover the truth. There’s also a love story between two of the main characters.

In this scene in the episode “Nerve,” audiences are transported to the past. Jeon Seol (Im Soo-jung) hides from authorities with Se-joo (Yoo Ah-in). To avoid detection, she kisses him. He gets caught up in the moment, pulls her in close, and kisses her earnestly.

9 Se-yeon & Cha Min Bedroom Kiss (Abyss)

Abyss became available on Netflix in 2019 and intrigued fans with its romantic fantasy storyline. The two main characters have been friends for years but a freak accident causes them to be revived in bodies representing their souls. Both characters soon start to fall in love.

In episode 14, Cha Min (Ahn Hyo-seop) offers Se-yeon (Park Bo-young) the only extra bed. After saying his goodnights, he comes back into the room. He kisses Se-yeon and says he promised to always protect her, but he can’t help himself. Cha Min asks to sleep in the same bed and they lean back while kissing as the music hits.

8 Ae-ra & Dong-man “I Like You” Kiss (Fight For My Way)

When looking up the genres for Fight For My Way, it’s described as a romance and “Slice of Life” drama. It certainly is as two lifelong friends start to develop feelings for each other. By the end of episode 10 of the show, they already started dating meaning a good chunk of kissing scenes will occur.

One of the best occurs in episode 14, Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won) is emotional while in bed with Dong-man (Park Seo-Joon). While crying she tells him how she really likes him. Dong-man kisses her after saying how cute she is but it only escalates. He pulls her leg in to make her lie down, stares at her intently, and says that he likes her too much he can’t stop himself. It leads into a steamy makeout scene.

7 Ahn So-hee & Cha Young-bin Cliff Kiss (Entourage)

American comedy-drama, Entourage chronicles the rise of a Hollywood actor and his group of friends. The show was immensely popular and was even developed into a K-drama version in 2016 as a black comedy-drama. While it details the struggles of being an actor in the business, there’s also some K-drama flare.

The flare occurs in the love story between So-hee (Ahn So-hee) and Young-bin (Seo Kang-joon). There’s a kissing scene that would make any viewer blush and cover their eyes. The pair meet at a cliff overlooking the city. So-hee runs to him and kisses him right away. The scene pans around them as they get into a heated French kiss with a romantic ambiance.

6 Young-joon & Mi-so “The Big Night” Kiss (What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?)

This K-drama is a fan favorite for its boss and employee romance and it has some steamy scenes between the main characters. It’s often tagged as being one of the top shows for it. There are many moments to pick one but one scene that gets the blood pumping is in episode 13.

Young-joon (Park Seo-joon) and Mi-so (Park Min-young) finally have a chance to give in to each other fully. The lights are dim and audiences can hear the removing of clothes as they kiss against the wall. The romantic music hits as they move to the bedroom and Young-joon displays his abs. They stare at each other lovingly before the scene cuts.

5 Deok-mi & Ryan “The Private” Kiss (Her Private Life)

This kiss scene goes from the end of one episode into the beginning of the next. It’s that good. In Her Private Life, the relationship between Ryan Gold (Kim Jae-wook) and Deok-mi (Park Min-young) was originally a cover-up but soon flourished into real love. Ryan proves he’s a perfect match for Deok-mi.

Ryan admits to her that he hated their relationship because it was fake and he wanted a real one. Ryan goes in for a kiss and it gets steamy before the episode cuts. In the next episode, a delivery man arrives but Ryan wants to continue and leads Deok-mi behind a temporary wall. Their private moment continues.

4 So-ah & Ha-baek Staircase Kiss (The Bride Of Habaek)

The two main characters in this drama originally didn’t like each other. It might be due to Ha-baek (Nam Joo-hyuk) trying to force So-ah (Shin Se-kyung) to take up her role as his servant which she had no idea about. But if K-drama tropes have taught viewers anything it’s that they surely fall in love.

In episode 14, the pair return home, and So-ah says he looks hungry as she goes upstairs. Ha-ba3k isn’t hungry for food. He turns her around and kisses her with gusto. He even maneuvers them up the stairs while doing so. Her slippers fall off as they land on the couch. In a comical turn of events, Ha-baek stops and says they can only go up to here. It’s safe to say she was a bit disappointed.

3 Gang-tae & Moon-young “I Love You” Kiss (It’s Okay To Not Be Okay)

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay might have become one of Netflix’s top dramas for the storyline, but also for the superb kissing scenes. To be fair, two major scenes are tied for first place. The first is episode 11 when Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) tries to console Moon-young (Seo Yea-ji) in her room.

He gives a heartfelt speech and makes her count to three. On three he grabs her face and kisses her. He even grabs her waist to make her taller than him. The second scene is from episode 16. Gang-tae had previously confessed to loving her and as they get ready to kiss, a deer outside interrupts. They laugh it off as Moon-young cries with emotion and they kiss on her desk.

2 Dong-cha & Mi-ran Shower Kiss (Melting Me Softly)

Don’t be surprised if K-dramas have more than one memorable kissing scene. In the 2019 drama, Melting Me Softly the two main characters share a sweet rain kiss in the forest in episode seven. The real top-notch kiss scene occurs in episode 10. Dong-chan (Ji Chang-wook) arrives at Mi-ran’s (Won Jin-ah) apartment and scolds her for opening the door.

He then pushes himself in and kisses her against the wall. The kicker is that both characters need to regulate their body temperatures to survive. The solution? Continue the fervent and romantic kissing while in the shower. The characters may be trying to cool down but it surely made fans heat up.

1 Jae-won & Eun-oh Surf Shop Kiss (Love Struck In The City)

The Netflix drama, Lovestruck in the City will take fans on an emotional and heartbreaking relationship between Jae-won (Ji Chang-wook) and Eun-oh (Kim Ji-won). Their romantic and jaw-dropping first kiss occurs in episode two. They had just come back from surfing and Eun-oh gets a small injury.

She explains it doesn’t matter if her body aches or it’s dangerous, she’ll still do it. As Jae-won dries her hair, sparks erupt. Jae-won cups her jaw and goes for it. They get so passionate as the wind blows that Jae-won grips the windowsill. The moment ends when the surfboards fall startling them. But it picks right back up again.
