Though it may seem like a fun and easygoing profession, life as a Twitch streamer comes with its own share of difficulties. Battling nasty online comments is one of them, and thanks to a seemingly endless stream of harsh criticism, Twitch streamer KBubblez is claiming that the online community Reddit has ruined her life.
While streaming on her channel this past Thursday, September 26, Kailey Hankins, known professionally by her Twitch username “KBubblez”, broke down while talking about her current dissatisfaction and frustration with her Twitch platform. Her late-night stream covered her lack of content, her numerous and persistent haters, and feeling left out from not attending TwitchCon like her fellow streamers.
During her stream, some viewers continued to pile on the hate comments. However, some urged the streamer to keep going, encouraging her to ignore the online trolls and haters. Though KBubblez saw and appreciated the nice comments, she admitted feeling like she didn’t deserve the encouragement due to her recent lack of content on her channel.
Continuing in her rant, KBubblez turned her attention to online community Reddit, stating, “I want to be banned from Reddit. Like I feel like Reddit ruined my f***ing life. Like, I know I’m a really bad driver – or at least, that clip looked really bad, I think that’s what started it all.”
Though KBubblez currently has over 100 thousand loyal Twitch followers, she’s also amassed a large number of haters due to an incident in June during a live stream that showcased her reckless driving. Viewers were horrified and outraged, with Reddit threads dedicated to bashing her driving skills. Though it’s been a few months since the controversy, KBubblez recent statements from her stream indicate that she has not fully bounced back from the repercussions of the incident.
KBubblez’s comments about Reddit even made it to the popular LivestreamFails subreddit only shortly after stating them, as seen when she checks her computer during her live stream. “I’m on LivestreamFails already,” she said, before scrolling through the comments. She stayed silent for a few moments, though her eyes appeared to get tearier by the second. Finally, she exclaimed, “Every time I’m on a stream – and that’s why I don’t want to f***ing do it anymore.”
It is currently unclear whether KBubblez will be back to regularly uploaded content or give a win to the haters and take a break from streaming.
