Two New Tracks Released For Pokemon 25

Two brand new songs have been released for the Pokemon 25 celebration, this time on a separate EP titled Pokemon Red.

Although we’ve known for some time that more artists would be getting involved with Pokemon 25, it wasn’t clear when they’d be released, and whether they’d be on the main album. Now we know that the three most recently released songs are part of a separate EP, rather than the main album that currently features Post Malone, Katy Perry, and J Balvin.

When announcing the songs, the Pokemon UK Twitter said, “It wouldn’t be #Pokemon25 if we didn’t pay homage to Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue! “Pokémon 25: The Red EP” is out today, with new tracks “Got ‘Em” from Vince Staples and “Wonderful” from Cyn, plus

Mabel’s Take It Home.”

The Pokemon Twitter also announced that a Pokemon Blue EP will be coming later this month and will feature remixes of the songs by Zhu. Although the Red EP is out now, and the Blue EP is coming later this month, it seems like all of the songs and remixes will be brought together for the release of Pokemon 25: The Album later this year in one big release.

The only artist that is left to release music for Pokemon 25 is J Balvin, who features next to Katy Perry and Post Malone on the Pokemon 25 website. The description for the album says “one more surprise artist” after mentioning J Balvin and Katy Perry, but it doesn’t mention Post Malone, so it could have been referring to him. Either way, we’ve got a guaranteed new song from J Balvin and remixes of the Pokemon Red EP still to come.

Although most of the songs in the Pokemon 25 album have relied more on theming than direct references to Pokemon, Vince Staples “Got ‘Em” has much more obvious nods to the series, such as having lyrics like “Sport mode fly like Mew, charged up like Raichu”.

George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and an advocate for Psychonauts goggle-wearing. He’s notorious for caring far too much about platforming mascots. He tries, bless him.
