Ubisoft Confirms Feign Death Ability & Cosmetic Gear For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft explained more of the mechanics of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including more stealth elements and character customization.

It seems that the stream of news news about Assassin’s Creed Vallhala hasn’t stopped circulating around the internet. Aside from confirming the return of the hidden blade and its insta-kill feature, Ubisoft has now confirmed additional stealth tactics that players will be able to take advantage of, as well as customization in regards to armor and gear.

The information comes from US Gamer, in which Ubisoft stated that players will be able to use the new feign death mechanic as part of their stealth approach. Although not a lot of information was shared about the mechanic and how it is going to work, fans can assume that they will be able to play possum in order to trick guards and enemies into investigating them for a potential kill or ambush. Additionally, players can use the main character’s raven called Sýnin to distract enemies by possibly providing an audio distraction of some sort.

Another bit of information that the company shared deals with gear customization and general cosmetic options. Shortly after Assassin’s Creed Odyssey released, Ubisoft implemented a feature that allowed players to visually customize their armor by overlaying pieces with other pieces. Due to positive feedback that the feature received, the company has decided to implement it in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. On top of that, Ubisoft stated that upon upgrading gear, it will have new visuals to it as well. Ultimately, the feature will allow players to craft the perfect look for the main character and customize their appearance as they see fit.

Finally, combat was touched upon and how players will be able to decapitate their enemies. Since Vikings were seen as fierce warriors and how they would attack their opponents with brute force, something similar can be expected in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. According to Ubisoft, players will have the option to bash, decapitate, and dismember enemies. Since there is always a chance that stealth will fail, players will have to get into actual fights and physically force their way through enemies. As such, brutal combat can be expected to play a significant role within the game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is expected to release this holiday season for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and for next-generation consoles.
