When you’re playing the Ubisoft games of next-gen, you’ll be able to take your progression to any platform. Ubisoft revealed that its new service, Ubisoft Connect, supports cross-progression for all platforms and services for many of its big upcoming games.

Ubisoft Connect was announced today and has a launch date of October 29. The service requires a Ubisoft account, and acts as a sort of social media/online portal for Ubisoft games on all platforms. It will have its own website, an app, and will be accessible through Ubisoft games starting with Watch Dogs: Legion.

As for what Ubisoft Connect actually does, it acts as a social hub and rewards system for Ubisoft games. You can find friends and compare achievements, as well as keep up with multiplayer events. It also give points like Club Ubisoft, though these points are collected across all games and are eligible for things like skins and consumables in whatever game you choose.

But perhaps the biggest benefit of Ubisoft Connect is that it keeps your game saves in the service itself. That means you can continue your progress if you ever switch consoles or take up PC gaming.

The Ubisoft Press Release cites a desire to make cross-platform a standard. For now, however, only a few select titles will benefit from this cross-progression. Hyper Scape, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Riders Republic are the cited examples. It’s possible that we’ll see many more get the function as Ubisoft works out the kinks in its new service. No doubt Rainbow Six Siege fans would love to see full cross-progression in their favorite game.

For those who can’t wait, Ubisoft decided to make over 1000 Ubisoft Club rewards free and unlock them for all players. Consider a perk for starting a Ubisoft account ahead of Ubisoft Connect’s launch.

Ubisoft Connect will be available starting October 20 on games for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Later this year, it will hit digital services like Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna.
