Update: we now know the exact times the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X will be available for pre-order.

According to Geoff Keighley, the Xbox Series X/S will be up for pre-order:

  • USA – 8 AM PT, 11 AM EST
  • Canada – 8 AM PT, 11 AM EST
  • UK – 8 AM BST
  • Australia – 8 AM AEST
  • New Zealand – 8 AM NZST
  • The rest of Europe, Middle East, and Africa – 9 AM CEST

Pre-orders for the next-generation Xbox consoles go live on September 22, and Microsoft is doing everything in its power to make sure it goes off without a hitch. A new message from Xbox PR details exactly what consumers can expect next week and details a few steps they can take to make sure they don’t miss out on the action.

Much like the PlayStation 5, supplies are limited for both the Xbox Series X and S. Microsoft states that pre-orders will open at 8am PDT on September 22 at the following retailers:

  • Amazon
  • Target
  • Walmart
  • Best Buy
  • Costco
  • Sam’s Club
  • GameStop
  • Newegg
  • Army and Airforce Exchange Service

After the disaster that was PlayStation 5 pre-orders, Microsoft is hoping to do right by customers and give them a legitimate chance to purchase a next-gen console. PlayStation 5 pre-orders were supposed to go live on September 17, but many retailers jumped the gun and opened them up a day early. This caused a wave of confusion around the internet, with fans upset when they realized the new system was sold out at most retailers by the time they got around to looking.

It sounds like pre-orders for the Series X/S should run smoother than they did for the PlayStation 5. Of course, we still need to trust retailers to not open the gates earlier, but at least Microsoft is being upfront with customers about what they can expect on September 22.

Microsoft is also offering an enticing Game Pass bundle for the Series X/S. For just $24.99 a month, you’ll get access to Xbox Game Pass and a new Series S console. Tack on an addition $10 and you can bump it up to a Series X. Monthly payment will continue for 24 months, at which point you’ll own the console and just need to pay for Game Pass. It’s a great way to make the next-gen jump without putting any money down.

Xbox Series X and Series S will release on November 10. They retail for $499 and $399, respectively, and quantities will be limited at launch – be ready to deal with bogged down servers next week if you’re hoping to land a pre-order.
