What everyone is clamoring for will finally arrive as Riot just announced that their game VALORANT will have a free-for-all Deathmatch mode. The new feature will come out just after the release of Act 2 this week.

It’s been months since the Closed Beta allowed players to try out the new PC title. Fans have demanded that the game include a Deathmatch mode for some time. Riot previously teased that a Deathmatch mode was in the works for some time. Part of the benefits of adding Deathmatch is to make a quick game to play as well as learning the mechanics of the game before heading into a real match. With this mode, it’ll also allow players to enter and leave the game without facing any penalties in the process. However, you will lose any XP gained for leaving the game early.

The announcement of Deathmatch mode was made on VALORANT’s official Twitter page. Each match will pit 10 players against each other and will play the same way as the main game. With no teams, it’s basically every player for themselves. All guns will be at their disposal to get an edge in the game. The player who can get 30 kills or more after six minutes is declared the victor. Another major difference is that Deathmatch won’t include abilities or a Spike, but players will be able to buy any weapon they want every time they spawn. This will test everyone’s aiming ability and use of their guns rather than relying on abilities alone.

Once a player is killed, they must wait three seconds to respawn, but they will get at least eight seconds of invulnerability before they start firing. Players can heal up with a health pack once they jump back into the match. Rather than sitting in one corner of the map until the timer runs out, there will be a radar that would reveal every player’s position every five seconds in the game. This will make the game more fast-paced and keep everyone mobile as they compete in this free-for-all.

Deathmatch mode in VALORANT is available to play now as Act 2 goes underway this week. This feature will be part of a beta test, but once everything runs smoothly, expect Riot to make this a permanent part of VALORANT’s gameplay.
