In Marvel’s Venom comics, Eddie discovers a new ability thanks to his proximity to a new Earth’s symbiote Hive Mind. Venom just learned a new trick!

Venom is getting a major upgrade. In Venom #27 Eddie Brock, his son Dylan Brock and Virus find themselves in a different dimension. A dimension ruled by the symbiote hive mind, a collective of symbiotes created by The King in Black himself.
Eddie gains the ability to grow wings, fly, and make chemical changes within his body. Now in Venom #27 Venom has received another upgrade, undoubtedly making him a more formidable opponent for Knull The God of Symbiotes. In hopes of learning more about his son Dylan’s connection to symbiotes, Eddie takes him to The Maker, the evil version of Reed Richards from a different earth. Virus attacks Venom at The Maker’s lab subsequently causing the activation of The Maker’s dimensional gate. Eddie, Dylan, and Virus are transported to a dimension that may reflect their own world’s not-so-distant future.
In Venom #27 the three are transported to a world where the majority of the planet’s population is under control of the symbiote hive mind. After regaining their bearings, Eddie and Dylan are immediately attacked by Virus, an antagonist who has a symbiote-killing suit of armor similar to that of Iron Man. Eddie starts to realize that the nearby hive mind is affecting his abilities. After taking serious damage from Virus’s equivalent to an Iron Man unibeam blast he absorbs and redirects the same blast of energy from a biological weapon that formed out of his left hand.
During the battle, Eddie’s symbiote informs him that their proximity to the hive mind unlocks all sorts of amazing abilities. Venom also experiences a new sensory ability when he feels Dylan communicating instead of hearing him. This is now the fourth new ability readers have witnessed in Donny Cates’s Venom run. With Knull, The King in Black’s arrival on the horizon, Venom needs all the upgrades he can get. Knull is near-omnipotent possessing strength that rivals Marvel’s creators of the universe: The Celestials.
Though The Avengers have been recruited for the upcoming battle with Knull, Eddie and Dylan Brock will still play major roles in the upcoming King in Black event. Venom has now gained a list of new abilities after encounters with Knull and the hive mind. He can sprout wings, absorb and redirect energy, manipulate his cells, and has heightened senses. Dylan Brock has the same symbiote codex as Knull according to The Maker. The two will need all the upgrades they can get to face off against The God of Symbiotes. Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman continue to develop Marvel’s most notable symbiote and host gearing up for an epic clash in The King in Black event. What new abilities will Venom gain next?
