Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. The full details of the Activision Blizzard lawsuit (content warning: rape, suicide, abuse, harassment) are being updated as new information becomes available.

A Call of Duty: Warzone player has been having fun trolling their teammates with a Fortnite prank, using sounds from the Epic Games battle royale while playing the Activision game with friends. Call of Duty: Warzone is no stranger to trolls, but this harmless (and hilarious) wind-up is vastly different to the usual frustrating trolls, cheats, and griefers that are commonplace in Warzone.

Activision’s free-to-play battle royale is one of the biggest in its genre, with Call of Duty: Warzone celebrating its 100 million player milestone back in April this year. The title offers a more realistic and gritty experience compared to Epic’s Fortnite, which sports a more cartoon-like style that many feel pivots the game towards a younger audience. Fortnite hit 350 million players in 2020, and is arguably still the biggest fish in the battle royale pond, though the game did release three years before Warzone. Both games continue to go from strength to strength, offering new weapons, skins, challenges, and more, keeping players returning to the action time and time again. Call of Duty: Warzone is now gearing up for new content in celebration of the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard, while Fortnite’s season eight has recently just begun.

TikTok content creator and Twitch streamer nixstahszn confused their friends by playing Fortnite sounds in Warzone (via GameRant). The creator created a soundboard of familiar Fortnite sounds, such as the Battle Bus horn, and applied them to similar situations in Warzone. In the clip uploaded to TikTok, nixtahszn’s teammates are definitely confused by the phenomenon as they try to figure out who’s playing Fortnite while the group tackles Warzone. The clip has been “Liked” over 100,000 times at the time of writing, proving that the harmless trolling is definitely a hit with Warzone fans.

Watch the clip on TikTok here.

The Warzone trolling video is actually the second part in a series of two, but they’re not the only soundboard pranks from nixstahszn. The creator’s TikTok channel also shows similar Warzone pranks using a Minecraft soundboard, a soundboard that mimics the sound of nukes, and even a fake eating soundboard. Any Call of Duty fans who stumble across strange and inexplicable sounds while playing might want to consider the possibility of a soundboard prank, as with close to 30 million “Likes” across their TikTok videos, nixstahszn’s trolling is proving very popular among CoD fans.

The streamer could soon be expanding their Warzone trolling series with the release of the new Call of Duty: Warzone map, Pacific. Recently revealed by developer Raven Software, the new map should provide a breath of fresh air for anyone looking for a new environment to explore. Streamer DrDisrespect has already compared the Pacific map to PUBG, so perhaps nixstahszn’s next soundboard should follow suit. The new Warzone map is expected to release sometime this year.
