A Twitter user just posted the character model for BioShock’s protagonist Jack and fans of the game are having a great time mocking it. The original game of the famous franchise released back in 2007 to almost universal critical acclaim. Upon release it received numerous Game of the Year awards and has since been lauded as one of the greatest video games ever developed. The franchise is so popular that it even had a movie in development for several years.
BioShock is a first-person shooter with a large amount of RPG and horror influences. The game begins with Jack’s plane crashing into the ocean and him arriving inside the underwater “utopia” Rapture. Because of the populace’s addiction to altering their own genes and infighting between several different factions, most of Rapture’s inhabitants have become insane and violent by the time Jack arrives. Jack spends most of the game working with a man named Atlas as he begins attempting to track down and stop Rapture’s founder Andrew Ryan.
Vincent Kinian posted on Twitter yesterday to show other users the in-game character model for Jack. Since the game is entirely in first-person gamers never actually see what Jack looks like. The character model shows Jack sporting a sweater as he stares out with expressionless eyes. Fans immediately took to either mocking or defending Jack’s fashion choices. One user even states “is a man not entitled to the comfiness of his sweater??”. A repeating joke on the thread is that Jack actually looks quite a bit like Chris’ Evans character in the movie Knives Out.

The BioShock franchise went on grow and become even more critically acclaimed after the release of the first game. Infinite garnered as much if not more praise than the original title and is regarded as one of the best games of the seventh generation of consoles. All three titles have since been remastered for BioShock: The Collection, which is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A fourth game in the franchise was also just officially announced last week.
The entire BioShock trilogy is still incredibly important to many gamers. There was serious demand from the public for a remastered collection despite being almost a decade since the release of the original. With all of the love and support that people have for the series it must have come as quite a shock to see what exactly Jack looks like. Even if the man has no fashion sense, surely they can overcome that to love the BioShock franchise regardless.
