Eliza Dushku played the lead role of Jesse in 2003 horror hit Wrong Turn, but she’s had a busy career in movies and TV in the years since. Dushku has been acting since the early 1990s, appearing as a kid in the Arnold Schwarzengger action flick True Lies, and later in films like Bring It On and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. It was Dushku’s stint as Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer that first rocketed her to widespread fame, which actually ended just slightly before Wrong Turn released.
Wrong Turn ended up launching a franchise that has so far produced six films, with a seventh on the way. Dushku led a cast full of current and future recognizable faces in Wrong Turn, including Dexter’s Desmond Harrington, May’s Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Zegers and Lindy Booth from the Dawn of the Dead remake, and Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui. Having such a talented cast helped elevate Wrong Turn from being simply yet another entry into the backwoods horror sub-genre.
Sadly, Dushku has never returned for any of Wrong Turn’s sequels, despite surviving Three-Finger’s wrath in the original film. That doesn’t look set to change for Wrong Turn 7: The Foundation, but at least there’s been no shortage of other places to see her onscreen.
What Eliza Dushku Has Done Since Wrong Turn
Only about six months after Wrong Turn hit theaters in 2003, Eliza Dushku booked the lead role on FOX’s Tru Calling, which lasted for two seasons. Dushku played Tru Davies, a medical student with the ability to go back in time and try to prevent the murders of corpses she attends to at the morgue. After appearing in films like the 2007 Alan Rickman dramedy Nobel Son and 2009’s evil board game flick Open Graves, Dushku would lead her next TV series with 2009’s Joss Whedon effort Dollhouse. Dushku starred for two seasons as Echo, a woman whose mind is routinely erased by an organization that uses her to carry out missions.
In the years following Dollhouse, Dushku turned up in a lot of guest spots on TV shows, including a 2010 episode of The Big Bang Theory, a 2011 episode of The Cleveland Show, and a 2011 episode of White Collar. She also voiced Holly Mokri in the Torchwood animated companion series Web of Lies, and Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in the animated DC movie Batman: Year One. In 2012, Dushku began a recurring role on the Hulu workplace comedy Leap Year, and in 2013 began voicing She-Hulk on Hulk and the Agents of SMASH.
By 2016, Dushku had joined the cast of Banshee, a Cinemax original drama in which an ex-con takes over the identity of the titular small town’s sheriff. Dushku played an FBI agent searching for a serial killer. Sadly, Dushku’s most recent major TV role ended badly. Dushku had just begun playing a new character on the CBS legal drama Bull that was planned to become a series regular, but she left the series due to sexual harassment by star Michael Weatherly. Dushku ended up receiving a $9.5 million settlement from CBS.
