A number of Pixel 6 users are complaining that the December security update has exacerbated network connectivity issues with the device. Google’s two latest smartphones, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, are among the very best that money can buy, but that doesn’t mean that they’re glitch-free. Google already has an active issue tracker on this subject, and owners will be hoping that the company will roll out a fix to mitigate these problems sooner rather than later.
Suspicions Of Wrong Firmware Versions
One Redditor, who said they are in Germany, claimed that they received a firmware version meant for Canada. Their signal is now reportedly either dead or of such low quality that it is barely usable. Others have also replied to the thread, saying they’re facing the same issues in Belgium. However, others claiming to be from the same two countries have said that they’ve received the correct updates and their devices are working as expected.
The December security update has patched a whole host of issues in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, but the string of complaints suggest that it might have introduced new bugs to the mix. With the aforementioned posts on Reddit suggesting that it might just be a simple issue of rolling out the wrong software in the wrong region, reversing that with a new update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro should not be too difficult.
