What Legendary Pokémon Are Confirmed Shiny In Pokémons Crown Tundra

Hunting shiny Pokémon has gotten more exciting for fans of Pokémon Sword and Shield, thanks to the recently added Crown Tundra DLC. The expansion, which includes a new Wild Area map, has many new features, like Dynamax Adventures and a massive list of returning Pokémon for fans to catch. This list includes most of the Legendary Pokémon from past generations. However, due to Shiny locks on certain Pokémon in the game, Shiny hunting fans might be wondering which of their favorites can be found as a Shiny in Sword and Shield.

There is a new way to hunt for Shiny Pokémon in The Crown Tundra, for fans of the rare color variants of their favorite beasts. The expansion introduced Dynamax Adventures to players as a way to explore Pokémon dens by delving deep into the tunnels underground. Using a Pokémon provided to the player at the start of the adventure, they must battle their way through three encounters without being kicked from the den after too many knockouts. After this, the player then encounters the Legendary that resides at the end of the challenge. These battles give fans a difficult challenge in order to catch the Legendary they are hunting.

What is unique about the Dynamax Adventures in the Crown Tundra, however, are the Shiny odds. Pokémon in the dens have a 1-in-300 chance of being Shiny, including the Legendaries. These odds are impressively good compared to 1 in 4096, the base rate for a Shiny encounter in the game without a Shiny Charm. The only catch is that the player won’t know what Pokémon is Shiny, if any, until the end of the Dynamax Adventure, when they are allowed to select only one Pokémon to return home with.

If a player reaches the end of a Dynamax Adventure to find their Legendary isn’t Shiny, that isn’t a problem, thanks to a new feature added for hunting a specific Legendary Pokémon. As long as the player doesn’t take that Pokémon with them at the end of the adventure, they can save its location and encounter it again until they find the Shiny version. The Crown Tundra also added a 100% catch rate in Dynamax Adventures, which helps greatly with wasted balls when trying to catch a Shiny Legendary.

Shiny hunting is a favorite challenge for many fans of the Pokémon games. With the addition of so many Legendary Pokémon to the Dynamax Adventures in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra DLC, players will have plenty of old favorites to hunt down and add to their collections. Finding these Legendary Pokémon after finishing The Crown Tundra is the perfect polish to post-game content for collectors and challenge-seekers alike.
