Spongebob Squarepants having a popular and beloved 3D platformer that has been given a modern remake is nothing less than extraordinary. The Nicktoon aired back in 1999 for the very first time and has been a hit between kids and adults ever since. The Sponge has also been on the big screen twice in the past. A third film was also planned to receive a theatrical release but COVID-19 had other plans for it. Here’s how players can find all the hidden Golden Underwear in the game.
Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehyrdated brings modern gamers back to an era where 3D platformers were king of the gaming space. Popularized by titles like Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie, the genre would go on the flourish during the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube era of games. It’s extremely rare to find a licensed video game with this much fun and personality wrapped all into one package. The original game was also a massive hit from within the speedrunning community. They are likely the main reason this title was remade out of all the other Nickelodeon gaming properties from the past. Golden Underwear is fairly difficult to find and unlock considering only 3 of them exist in Bikini Bottom. Here’s where players can find them all.
All Golden Underwear Locations in Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehyrdated
Collecting Golden Underwear will give Spongebob and friends more HP. Here are all the locations of the Golden Underwear.
- Golden Underwear #1: The first pair can be found on top of Squidward’s house. Go between Patrick’s Rock and Squidward’s house. There will be a floor button with two Wooden Tikis on top of it. Activate it with a Bubble Bounce and jump across the appearing platforms to make it to the top.
- Golden Underwear #2: The player will need at least 15 Golden Spatulas to access this pair. The Golden Underwear will be at the top of the Police Station in Upper Conch Street. On the side of the Police Station, there will be a pressure pad. A cage will rise so now use the Bubble Bowl ability on what’s inside. Now, the player can bounce up to the roof.
- Golden Underwear #3: The player will need at least 40 Golden Spatulas to access this pair. The pair will be inside the “Krusty Krab” sign. Head over to the Chum Bucket and use the Cruise Bubble ability on three buttons. This will cause a Springboard to appear. Jump on this and float over to the Golden Underwear.
It goes against all odds that this remake even exists. Licensed games typically only last until the deal between the developer and the intellectual property owner expires. Nickelodeon was in the market to remake some of their older titles and now here we are. The game is a blast and even includes some new content that was originally cut from the main game like a multiplayer mode. The Sponge’s legacy in the animation world is almost to the size of the Disney brand in its entirety. Possibly this remake will lead developers to make a new title in this series. A Battle for Bikini Bottom sequel with new levels and playable characters would be a neat addition to the Sponge brand.
