There is a variety of Technical Machines, or TMs, in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, including the Dark Pulse TM. Players can obtain this move later in the game after collecting all of the gym badges. Although it can be very powerful, the Dark Pulse TM is also rare, so players should make sure they use it on the best Pokémon possible.
Pokémon learn new moves as they level up, and some Pokémon may be able to naturally learn Dark Pulse, like Umbreon or Haunter. However, other Pokémon will need to learn it from a TM. Dark Pulse is TM 79 and has a power of 80 and an accuracy of 100, making it one of the best Dark-type moves in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In order to obtain TM 79, players will need to play through most of the game and collect every gym badge.
Dark Pulse can be purchased in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from a randomized vendor in the Grand Underground. Players will need to interact with NPCs to find someone selling TM 79 for spheres, but it can take a while to find this move. Alternatively, players can go to a guaranteed spot to find Dark Pulse. After defeating Volkner in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players can head to Victory Road to obtain the Dark Pulse TM.
Finding Dark Pulse in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Players should enter Victory Road near the Pokémon League for the quickest route to the item location. Once inside players can slide down the slope in front of them using Rock Climb. Go to the left, then up the next slope once again using the HM Rock Climb. Keep following the path and enter a new area. Up the stairs, there will be some boulders and an item behind them.
Push the boulders on the sides to the left towards the item, then push the boulder that’s in the middle up or down to clear the path. Go past the boulders and claim the item on the ground to obtain Dark Pulse. Players can also dig up spheres in the Grand Underground to trade to vendors for TMs, but there’s no guarantee that Dark Pulse will be available to buy in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
TM 79 can be taught to a variety of Pokémon regardless of whether they learn it naturally by leveling up. After earning every gym badge, players can find Dark Pulse by exploring Victory Road. There are also vendors that sell the TM in the Grand Underground. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl include a large number of TMs that can be found throughout the game.
