If you’ve been keeping up with the latest developments in the Apex Legends story, then you will know all about the current Impress Me teaser that’s in the game, involving Passcode Holosprays and decrypting a secretive code.

This will allow you to view a brand new sneak-peek at what Season 9: Legacy has to offer, and this teaser is actually led by Ash, who might be familiar to anyone that is a big Titanfall 2 fan, or has been paying close attention to the Apex Legends story up to this point.

If you haven’t been paying close attention, never fear, this guide is here. This guide aims to break down everything we currently know about Ash in Apex Legends, and what you might be able to expect from Ash in Season 9: Legacy.

You might first remember Ash from Titanfall 2, and if you were a dedicated multiplayer fan, then she may have been unforgettable. Ash was the primary liaison for the Pilots in Titanfall 2’s multiplayer mode, so she regularly appeared in scenes sending Pilots out to fight.

Ash first appeared as a boss in Titanfall 2, and was seemingly killed by Jack, the protagonist of Titanfall 2’s campaign, and BT, his Titan partner. Of course, being a simulacrum means death is harder to come by than being crushed, as Revenant has proved.

Ash actually reappeared in Apex Legends’ Season 5 story quest, The Broken Ghost, where Legends were tasked with acquiring Relics from around Kings Canyon, and finally assembling them to create Ash’s head. The finale of the quest saw you reattaching Ash’s head to a replacement body.

Ash was given to Hammond Robotics by Loba in return for the location of Revenant’s source code. While with Hammond, Ash’s data was extracted, and then she was once again thrown out. She was recovered by Pathfinder during The First Ship, Season 6’s story quest, and at the end of that story she left with Kuben Blisk, Apex Predators’ leader, after being told that an “old friend” had returned, that could’ve equally been Horizon, or perhaps Viper’s daughter Valkyrie.

Ash hasn’t returned in the story mode since, however now it seems she has returned in a teaser for Season 9: Legacy.

Ash’s Involvement In Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy

The Impress Me teaser basically lets us know that Ash is organising an Arena for Apex Legends, and while some have theorised that this will be an instalment in Kings Canyon, similar to Pathfinder’s Fight Night Takeover, I believe that the Arena will be a new mode entirely, that will be available throughout Season 9, at least.

It has previously been datamined and leaked that a small-scale PVP mode with respawns was being developed for Apex Legends, and that seems to be exactly what the Arena mode is. Small, sectioned-off areas of Apex Legends’ various maps, where you’ll go in with loadouts and a small team, and will eliminate opponents until either a timer has elapsed, or an elimination goal has been reached.

Ash will be the host of this mode, similar to how she organised IMC Pilots in Titanfall 2’s multiplayer. She’s essentially reprising her previous role here, and it fits her perfectly. We can hope that when Season 9: Legacy launches we’ll get to find out even more about Ash, Kuben Blisk, Valkyrie, the Apex Predators, and their relationships with one another in Apex Legends.
