Why HighLevel VALORANT Players Are Frustrated With The Game’s Ranked System

High-level VALORANT players (and regular players alike) are getting more than a little frustrated by the game’s somewhat problematic ranked system.

One such player – NRG Esports’ Brandon “Aceu” Winn – raised his main issue which many other pro players have mentioned too, on a Twitch stream yesterday That issue concerns the ease with which players can five-stack into VALORANT ranked games with the help of other solo queue players.

Why HighLevel VALORANT Players Are Frustrated With The Game’s Ranked System

Five-stacking players are able to climb the ranks together as a group far more easily than your standard group comprising solo players. Obviously because they’re more familiar with each other and have superior coordination amongst themselves, this puts them at a huge advantage over actual solo players in a way that’s becoming increasingly more unfair and frustrating.

Basically, competitors who want to climb by themselves are having their chances stifled by those adopting this technique.

So what can Riot Games do to rectify this issue? One way is to implement what they have already implemented in their other big title League of Legends, which is to set up two different player queues for the game: one for solo or duo players, and another for group players.

After the same inflated ranking issues started emerging in League of Legends, Riot Games implemented the two-queue system which seemed to help straighten things out. This way, full teams will be pitted against other full teams more often, meanwhile solo and duo players are only matched with other solo and duo players.

Hopefully, Riot Games will heed players’ feedback and make some much-needed changes to the game’s ranking system as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, players are diving into the new features introduced into the game in the recently-implemented Episode 1 Act II. A brand new Agent by the name of Killjoy has been added to the pool, and an all-new Deathmatch game mode is now playable too.

VALORANT is downloadable now for free for Microsoft Windows.
