The cyberpunk-esque dystopia known as Promethea has a wealth of unique foes, fun weapons, and hidden secrets in Borderlands 3, including the epic side mission boss, Killavolt. Lectra City is home to one particularly memorable example of the latter, which gives way to an intense clash with the one-armed mutant “One Punch.”

Between this tough mini-boss battle, and the slew of contraptions required to fight him, the Lectra City puzzle can bring its share of headaches for those who attempt to complete it. This piece will serve as a blueprint that will lay out the details and guide you along the way. Afterward, you should be able to knock out both the puzzle and the aptly named One Punch with little sweat.

Where Is The Lectra City Puzzle/One Punch?

This puzzle can be found in an underground subway region of Lectra City. The puzzle and hidden boss lie in the central-western region of the map.

  • Assuming your starting point is Moxxi’s Bar (which is the spawn point if you perish), head around the small path on the southeastern region of the map, and head to the “Downtown Square.” You’ll see a staircase that leads underground.
    • If you’re starting at the Lectra City fast travel point at the northeastern end of the city, follow the wall on the east side all the way to the southern region of the map.
  • Go down the stairs and continue making your way through the underground subway tunnel, taking out Fanatics in your wake.
  • You’ll notice a small caged room on the left side of the subway, with loot boxes as well as large pipes. Enter this area, and you’ll notice a door with some old-fashioned TV screens. This is the location of the puzzle, as well as One Punch’s hideout.

How To Solve The Puzzle

  • You’ll need to flip on each of the TV screens in order to complete this puzzle.
  • You’ll notice a variety of contraptions in this room that are used for this purpose. These are what you’ll be interacting with to flip on the TV screens and complete the puzzle. These contraptions are as follows:
    • A button A wall switch A lever with a keypad/button A valve with a turnable wheel A large lever on the ground.
  • There are reportedly multiple combinations possible to turn all the TV on.
  • However, if numbering each of the objects from left to right while facing them, as shown in the image above — the quickest, most efficient combination is 5, 5, 4. That would mean hitting the ground lever twice, then turning the valve wheel once.
  • Just for reference’s sake, other combinations that have reportedly worked include 1, 4, 5, 5, 2 as well as 1, 4, 5, 2, 2.
  • If this was done incorrectly, simply leave the city and return to reset the puzzle. Or you can simply play around with different combinations until something works, which shouldn’t take too much time or effort.
  • You should see that each of the screens at the door turns on. Immediately following this, the beast will emerge while wasting no time rushing towards you.

As a side note: This puzzle resets each time you quit, so you could go back and farm this monster if you so choose.

Tips For Slaying One Punch

True to his name, One Punch is capable of taking you out in one devastating blow, so be sure to keep your distance and continue to fire on him while backing away. While he’ll spend much time running at you, he’ll sometimes pause for a bit, swinging and slamming his arm around. Use this as an opportune time to unload on him.

Ultimately, the goal is to simply avoid getting hit, as One Punch only has powerful melee attacks. You can possibly weather an indirect hit or two, but a direct wallop from One Punch will almost certainly end you.

He doesn’t shoot you, so be sure to take advantage of this by continuing to fire at him as you back away. Watch that you don’t get stuck or back into walls or obstacles. It’s easy to fall into these death traps within the confined area of this subway.

Emphasize elemental attacks to chip away at his health, and/or accurate, high DPS weapons such as Jakobs-brand. Bust out shotguns in the likely scenario he gets dangerously close to you. Additionally, turret-spawning Tediore weapons can be useful. These turrets can distract him and pile on the damage, giving you an extended clearing to take him out more quickly and effectively.

One Punch’s Loot

The few items One Punch drops will of course vary, but he holds a decent chance of dropping a couple of nice weapons. They are as follows:

  • One Pump Chump: A Jakobs-brand legendary shotgun with a one-shot reload. While this can seem cumbersome, its power largely makes up for this, as it grants a massive boost to weapon damage, and a sizable boost in reload speed. It also comes with the nifty perk of a 50 percent chance to not consume ammo. It’s very accurate for a shotgun as well.
    • This weapon has a 15 percent chance to drop from One Punch.
  • Sleeping Giant: A Dahl-brand legendary SMG that offers the unique perks of any combination of 2x projectiles, 160 percent gun damage (additive), 90 percent fire rate, increased reload speed, increased accuracy, and increased handling. Keep in mind, these only kick in one to two seconds after reload; attributed to the next magazine. These buffs are wiped away with each reload and swapping the weapon. There is a 33 percent chance to score all of these buffs at once.
    • This weapon is also a world drop, but has a 15 percent chance to drop from One Punch.
