If you’re a Digimon fan, then you’re no doubt aware of the upcoming movie, Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna, and the reboot of the original series Digimon Adventure Psi. A new adventure is about to begin in the Digital World, but what would things be like if the Digi-Destined were off to Hogwarts instead?

Here are 10 of the Digidestined sorted into their Hogwarts Houses.

10 Taichi/Tai: Gryffindor

Easily a Gryffindor. Taichi is, after all, the bearer of the Crest of Courage, perhaps the biggest attribute of Gryffindor, along with bravery, loyalty, and honor – all of which are qualities Taichi has in spades.

He has great leadership qualities, is a competitive sports player (no doubt he’d give Harry a run for his money as Quidditch captain), but can also be stubborn to a fault – the pressure of keeping his friends safe led to Taichi causing Agumon to dark-digivolve to SkullGreymon – as well as brash or quick to act without thinking of a plan – like when he rushed to save Sora from the Dark Network.

9 Yamato/Matt: Slytherin

There is a lot of argument to be made for where Yamato could be sorted. He has the potential to end up in either Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

He’s intelligent and creative, which are Ravenclaw qualities; however, as the upcoming film Last Evolution Kizuna has shown, these aren’t qualities he values as a priority as he has moved on from his musical interests. He has the Crest of Friendship, which could potentially land him in Hufflepuff.

But ultimately, it’s his tendencies towards being a loner, select loyalty, and his ability to make the cold, hard decisions for the bigger cause that land him in Slytherin. In Digimon Adventure tri., when Taichi is presumed dead, Yamato is the one to step up as the leader, knowing there is no time to grieve when there are greater issues at hand.

8 Sora: Hufflepuff

Some could argue that Sora belongs in Gryffindor. She is definitely loyal and brave, and could potentially quietly fit in much like Neville Longbottom. But she is much a better fit in Hufflepuff. She has the Crest of Love, is referred to as the Mom friend of the group, is always looking out for her friends and trying to be of service. Her selflessness can be a detriment, as she is always putting others ahead of herself and tends to hide her personal problems to not be a burden to her friends.

She is also shown to be pursuing a career as a flower arranger, or Ikebana, like her mother; and everyone knows Hufflepuffs have an affinity for Herbology.

7 Koushiro/Izzy: Ravenclaw

Much like it is an easy choice to put Taichi in Gryffindor, it makes perfect sense to have Koushiro in Ravenclaw. He’s the bearer of the Crest of Knowledge, and is always fascinated by the mysteries of the Digital World and ready to put his research skills to good use.

But the downside to being a Ravenclaw means having a one-track mind, or sometimes being insensitive or unaware of the needs of others. This definitely comes up when Koushiro, Tentomon, Mimi, and Palmon are lost in a mysterious temple, and Koushiro is so focused on researching the hieroglyphs that he ignores his upset friends.

6 Mimi: Slytherin

This may come as a shock to some, and to others it may be a no brainer. But Mimi belongs in Slytherin, and if Draco is called the Slytherin Prince then she would definitely be the Princess. They may have a bad reputation, but Slytherins tend to not only be shrewd and cunning, but are also high-achievers, determined, loyal to their own, and keen on self-preservation.

As she’s grown older, Mimi has become quite business-minded. She may not become a CEO like Koushiro, but she sets high goals for herself and others and expects everyone to meet her standards. This attitude can alienate others though, as it did in Digimon Adventure tri. when she decided the class would run an American style cafe and dress as cheerleaders, without stopping to think about anyone else’s wants besides her own.

5 Jyou: Hufflepuff

Some could argue that there is a place for Jyou (or, Joe) in Ravenclaw. Since season one, he has set himself the goal of becoming a doctor and studying hard for med school. And we know from the epilogue that he does, in fact, grow up to become the first doctor for both humans and Digimon.

But Jyou doesn’t seem to be naturally smart. He struggles a lot with his studies and average grades. What does matter is that this shows his patience and determination to work hard, which means he is a perfect fit in Hufflepuff. Not only is he a dedicated worker, but he is a kind friend and mindful of the safety of others. He’s the one who thought to carry the supplies and first-aid kit all across the Digital World and was always willing to help an injured party whether they were friend or foe.

4 Takeru/T.K.: Gryffindor

There’s no harm in thinking Takeru could have ended up in Hufflepuff. He’s definitely a great friend and grows up to have a good sense of humor with a humble, jovial nature. He’s also level-headed and fair-minded, for the most part. Unfortunately, Takeru can have a highly moralistic outlook and fall into black-and-white thinking, a negative quality found in proud Gryffindors.

He’s led by his emotions and has anger issues, particularly when faced with injustice and evil – like when he punched Ken. But there’s also a flair of heroism to Takeru, particularly as he is always protecting Hikari.

3 Hikari/Kari: Hufflepuff

What’s the line – something like “and Hufflepuff takes the rest”? Hufflepuff does have a reputation for being the left-over house, and in this case, that may ring true. Hikari doesn’t really have much personality or depth to her character to have her strongly belong in any of the other three houses.

She’s not particularly brave or action-orientated, creative or intelligent, or ambitious and cutthroat. Hikari just sort of exists as a tropey embodiment of light, goodness, and purity (her name literally translates to Light Light, and she has the Crest of Light), with no real substance. So she ends up in Hufflepuff, simply because it’s the only house that would take her.

2 Miyako/Yolei: Ravenclaw

Miyako ticks a lot of boxes to belong in Ravenclaw. First of all, she’s quite smart, the tech-wiz within her group (she takes over as president of the computer club), and admires Koushiro – fellow holder of the Crest of Knowledge – for his exceptional intelligence.

Secondly, there is a real geekiness to Miyako. She’s perhaps the biggest oddball out of all the Digidestined, and everyone knows Ravenclaw’s are eccentric.

1 Daisuke/Davis: Gryffindor

Daisuke is an easy fit for Gryffindor. He is often dismissed by the fandom as a Taichi carbon-copy, an impulsive yet lovable leader. And there is no argument that Daisuke is rash, often quick to action and landing himself in trouble. He is fiercely loyal, a loudmouth, and stubborn to a fault – all of which are Gryffindor qualities.

Daisuke may make a lot of mistakes, but he always has good intentions. His courage lies in his willingness to face dire situations – his optimism and unshakable hope. He aims to be a good friend and is prepared to give people a second chance, which he did for villain-turned-ally Ken, or like Harry Potter did for countless people through the series.
