The one-time academy support for Dignitas, Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung, is making a career switch and becoming a positional head coach for Golden Guardians for the upcoming League of Legends 2020 Summer split.

Previous to this new position, Olleh was the support for Team Liquid; but after a disappointing performance from the organization at worlds, he was let go. After being let go from Team Liquid, Olleh joined Golden Guardians and was on their LCS roster. More failure followed Olleh, however, as Golden Guardians didn’t preform well either, leading to Olleh being put onto Golden Guardians academy team. After this demotion, Olleh went to play for the newly integrated team Dignitas. This transition was not a promotion, as Olleh would be put onto Dignitas’s academy team as well.

One week before the 2020 Summer Split is to begin, the Golden Guardians and Olleh have rectified their past and regained trust in each other. As Golden Guardians announced that Olleh the former LCS support will be becoming a positional head coach for both the Golden Guardians LCS roster and academy roster.

With this change, Olleh will be coaching Jae-Hyun “Huhi” Choi, the support on the LCS roster, and Johnathan “Chime” Pomponio, the support for the academy roster. Overall, this may be a good thing for Olleh as it will give him an opportunity to prove his macro knowledge of League of Legends. This should also be beneficial for Golden Guardians, as they just added a veteran support to their coaching staff. One of Golden Guardians’ biggest faults during the 2020 spring split was their support play. Hopefully, a veteran like Olleh can steer the support ship of Golden Guardians in the right direction. After Golden Guardians notified the public of Olleh joining the roster, Olleh tweeted out this.
