The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Pokémon has long been a franchise where fans let their imagination run wild. What would it be like to own your very own Pokémon, and how would you interact with them? One thing fans have talked about the most is being able to ride their companions around or even use them to fly to the supermarket.

While this is a fun idea, in theory, most Pokémon don’t seem like they would be that fun to ride. Several games in the series allow you to ride various Pokémon, but to be completely honest, few of them seem like they would be that fun to hang on to.

10 Rapidash

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

One of the most horrifying Pokémon you could ride would be Rapidash, while the horse can control its flames; imagine if it got scared. Riding a Rapidash is a great way to get burned or even possibly boiled alive if you’re unlucky enough.

There are tons of hore-like companions you could choose to ride like Mudsdale that are completely safe. At the very least wear proper clothing before you ride a Rapidash.

9 Haunter

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Honestly, nothing feels that safe about riding a ghost that can easily poison you. Haunter has been shown to go through buildings, which means he can phase in and out. They have also been noted to pull pranks on trainers, which doesn’t make them a great choice to ride,

On top of that, riding a Haunter just looks incredibly uncomfortable and will most likely end in a backache.

8 Skiddo

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Skiddo is a cute Pokémon, but they are known for jumping. While this can be useful on short journeys, longer ones would be pretty rough. If you have ever ridden a horse that is doing jumps, then you know it can wear you down.

Skiddo may not be the best choice for a long journey across an entire region.

7 Onix

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

If you are scared of heights, then Onix is not for you. To ride Onix, you have to sit on top of its head and hold on to its horn. Onix is 28 feet tall, and if you fall off of one, you will likely break several bones.

On top of being way to tall to safely ride, just imagine having to sit on a rock with no cushioning for hours on end.

6 Woobat

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Woobat is a small bat that can learn fly; this means that it can carry you around the map. Woobat weighs in at a little over four pounds and is about a bit over 4 feet in size. This is a horrible creature to try and hitch a ride on, as it will likely drop you.

On top of that, there isn’t a lot of space to cling on to as Woobat isn’t shaped for carrying humans.

5 Snorlax

If you have ever gotten to ride Snorlax in the game’s, then you know how ridiculous this idea is. In order to ride Snorlax, you have to cling to his stomach, which looks pretty hilarious.

You would probably run out of strength before this Pokémon could get you very far.

4 Pyukumuku

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Pyukumuku is another tiny Pokémon that is able to learn surf. The only problem is he is only eleven inches tall and weighs 2.6 pounds. Not only would this Pokémon have trouble dragging you along, but its whole body is covered in a slimy mucus.

If the slime didn’t gross you out, then the thought of forcing this poor creature to drag you around against the ocean current should.

3 Rhyhorn

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

Rhyhorn is a creature that makes a bit more sense to ride but is entirely made of rock. Rhyhorn’s aren’t the most graceful runners, and from the looks of the games, riding one seems to be a bit bumpy.

This would get incredibly uncomfortable after a couple of minutes, and many trainers would end up trying to buy a saddle.

2 Kangaskhan

The Ten Worst Pokémon to Ride in The Series

This is another creature that trainers can ride, but to be honest, it’s a bit strange. To ride one you have to sit on it’s should, which doesn’t have very much space. The only thing you could possibly hole onto is its head, which would make it hard for the creature to see.

The Kangaskhan also has to carry around its baby still, which it will always choose over you if any type of danger occurs.

1 Mamoswine

Mamoswine is eight-foot-tall, making it another horrifying creature to ride. While it can be useful in deep snow, it wouldn’t be great to ride elsewhere. Mamoswine is covered in a thick layer of fur that would most likely make it overheat in most regions.

It would also be a dangerous fall if the creature got spooked and knocked you off while you were riding it around. In fact, it’s noted that hot temperatures will actually kill off this species.
