Almost everyone agrees that The Suicide Squad is one of the best DCEU films ever. A big part of its critical success is the diverse and chaotic cast of characters, and Peacemaker is one of the standouts. Described as “the world’s biggest douchebag,” Peacemaker is the very definition of an antihero. And after watching the movie, it’s easy to understand why he’s getting a spin-off HBO Max show.

Many new faces will be part of the cast, including Adrian Chase, AKA Vigilante. However, several fan-favorite characters from previous DCEU projects could also make appearances in the show and fit in Christopher Smith’s world of twisted peace.

10 Calendar Man

Anyone familiar with Sean Gunn’s body of work knows that the delightfully chameleonic actor improves every one of his projects. Gunn’s roles are a testament to his versatility, from the quirky and strange Kirk in Gilmore Girls to the endearing Kraglin in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Audiences only got a brief glimpse of his Calendar Man in The Suicide Squad, but many can’t wait to see more. Calendar Man cemented his place in the DC villain pantheon thanks to his Hannibal Lecter-like role in the seminal miniseries Batman: The Long Halloween. Known for his brilliance, he would make a worthy foe/ally for the ruthless Peacemaker.

9 Sol Soria

Sol has a supporting role in The Suicide Squad as the leader of Corto Maltese’s rebels. Despite her brief intervention, the character made an impression thanks to her role in the story and Alice Braga’s firm and committed performance.

She has a previous connection with Rick Flag, and the two share a dynamic that could even pass for friendship. With Corto Maltese safe and multiple questions lingering about Task Force X’s intervention, Sol might find her way back to Peacemaker. An elite and expert tactician, Sol moves in similar circles as Peacemaker so it wouldn’t be out of the question for the two to meet again, eventually.

8 The Birds Of Prey

Ever since their debut in last year’s Birds of Prey, the titular group has been MIA. There is no news about their future in the DCEU, and fans wonder if they will even pop up again. It’s a shame because even though the movie had some problems, the Birds of prey themselves were one of the highlights. Plus, the addition of Renee Montoya was inspired, and the film’s ending teased more adventures to come for the team.

Appearing in Peacemaker would allow them to stay active in the DCEU. It would also give the titular antihero three very worthy foes who would keep up with him every step of the way.

7 June Moone

Most fans have a negative perception of the first Suicide Squad. The depiction of the Enchantress received particular criticism. Indeed, Cara Delevigne’s performance and Enchantress’ role in the plot weren’t the best and did a considerable disservice to the character.

James Gunn recently confirmed The Suicide Squad takes place in the main DCEU timeline, so June Moore is somewhere out there. It’s unclear if she’s still in a relationship with Rick Flag, but even if she wasn’t, his death surely affected her in some way. June’s appearance would provide another bridge between both movies, thus leading to more continuity to the DCEU. Almost every fan would appreciate this because the DCEU’s current chaotic state is no one’s first choice.

6 Calvin Swanwick

Zack Snyder’s original plans included comic book icon Martian Manhunter. The character made a formal appearance in this year’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League and would have played a prominent role in the director’s proposed Darkseid storyline.

Fans still don’t know if Swanwick will return to the DCEU, but they would love to see him back. It would also be a way of preserving Snyder’s legacy, even if he never gets to finish his original story. In the DCEU, Swanwick is the Secretary of Defense, so it would be perfectly logical for him to cross paths with Peacemaker sooner or later.

5 Deathstroke

The archenemy of the Teen Titans, Deathstroke, made his debut during a post-credit scene in Justice League. Zack Snyder clearly had plans for the character because Deathstroke was part of the pivotal Knightmare sequence. Casting Joe Manganiello was also a (death)stroke of genius; indeed, the role fit the Magic Mike star like a glove.

Fans still don’t know if Maganiello will return to the DCEU, but he should. Deathstroke is such an impressive villain and deserves a prominent role in any DC universe. What better way to bring him back than in Peacemaker? The two characters wouldn’t get along, but fans would love seeing them lock horns. Plus, like with Swanwick, his presence would be a way to honor the Snyderverse.

4 Bloodsport

One of the main plots in The Suicide Squad is the ongoing rivalry between Bloodsport and Peacemaker. Both characters are equal in strength and ability, making them perfect foils for each other. Throughout the movie, Bloodsport and Peacemaker engage in many petty fights to prove who’s best, and these moments are among the film’s best.

Peacemaker’s survival also means he’ll have a score to settle with Bloodsport, and the two are bound to have one heck of a battle. Fans would love to see more of their rivalry, and the Peacemaker show would be the perfect opportunity to keep it going.

3 Amanda Waller

Amanda Waller, arguably the most intelligent character in The Suicide Squad, is the ultimate enemy. She is cunning, cold, and absolutely ruthless. She and Peacemaker have a secret arrangement in the movie, and he is willing to die to fulfill his mission.

There is obviously a complex dynamic between Peacemaker and Waller, and fans would love to see them knock heads. Plus, Viola Davis is one of the most acclaimed and beloved actresses working right now. She added a lot of prestige and gravitas to The Suicide Squad and would do the same for Peacemaker. Every fan would be thrilled at her inclusion.

2 King Shark

The trailers for The Suicide Squad hinted that King Shark would be a scene-stealer and the movie delivered. Nanaue is the Suicide Squad’s fierce yet surprisingly wholesome golem. He is goofy and innocent but still a powerful and almost immortal killing machine.

King Shark is one of the movie’s instant stars, and fans can’t wait to see him again. At the film’s end, Nanaue is free to go anywhere he pleases. Could he make his way to HBO Max? A King Shark miniseries would be absolute gold, and every DCEU fan would tune in. In the meantime, he could pop by Peacemaker and deliver more of his hilarious and endearing one-liners.

1 Ratcatcher 2

If there’s a breakout character in The Suicide Squad, that’s Ratcatcher 2. She’s the heart of the movie, the emotional center that keeps the Squad grounded. She’s kind and gentle, preserving her faith in humanity against all odds. Ratcatcher is the light in the Squad, bright enough to keep others from losing themselves in the darkness.

Ratcatcher may not be popular enough to have her own show, but she could appear in other DCEU projects. Her potential intervention in Peacemaker would also be the ideal chance to establish her as a more heroic figure. Fans already love her, so making her a full-on hero would only enhance these positive feelings.
