While not every Pixar franchise is seeing their characters return to the drawing board as of yet, Reddit has some ideas about which animated films should be next on Disney’s sequel docket, following hits like Toy Story 4, Finding Dory, and Incredibles 2.

10 A Bug’s Life

A Bug’s Life first graced the big screen in 1998. But some fans are arguing that Disney shouldn’t have waited over two decades to create a sequel. aaronh1202 said, “A Bug’s Life was the most forgotten Pixar film that deserves a sequel!”

Another user outlined what A Bug’s Life sequel would look like: “Since embracing the inventions of Flik the colony has grown more than ever and is easily 10 times the size of where we left off. The queen is ill and dying. Princess Atta is next in line, but we learn there is an uprising of a new potential queen. Now Flik, Atta, and the rest of the team all have to work together to help make Atta the new Queen.”

9 Luca

Though it was only just released this summer, fans have already fallen in love with the characters in Pixar’s Luca. As such, there is quite a commotion being caused on Reddit threads by users agreeing with unknownunknown121 when they said, “I really hope they make a sequel for Luca.”

trackofalljades suggested the plot revolve around “Luca, Alberto, and Giulia getting into an adventure together trying to find Alberto’s father. There are just so many ways that could go, and so many locations it could involve, plus the character’s relationships have already been developed and there could be plenty of travel (trains, bikes, Vespas, you name it).”

8 Inside Out

No matter your age, the complexity of emotions never fades away. This is exactly why fans of Inside Out are suggesting Pixar consider a sequel. Riley could continue to grow up, creating new challenges for her emotions. One Reddit user suggested, “Inside Out 2 – the Emotions try to navigate early adolescence. The possibilities are endless.”

In addition, since there are only five core emotions in Inside Out, other Reddit users pointed out how this could lead to an expansion of the original crew. petraman said the sequel could follow “Disgust and Anger taking over Riley’s mind and locking up all the other emotions while she goes through puberty.” Ignis_Vespa chimed in, “With the debut of lust.”

7 The Incredibles

With how many Toy Story iterations there are in the Pixar canon, The Incredibles fans are feeling a little left out. One Reddit user said, “I’m kinda hoping they keep The Incredibles going, it was perfectly set up for a sequel, and I really enjoyed the second film even if some people weren’t a fan of the villains, it was a really fun/solid follow up that was great seeing how far Pixar’s come along re-visiting those early characters.”

4 Coco

Coco is a standalone Pixar film that touched the hearts of many viewers. While most fans weren’t interested in a possible sequel, some fans took to Reddit threads to brainstorm a plot. BaymaxandTianaFan argued the next movie should “focus on Miguel’s little sister visiting the land of the dead.”

torres091, on the other hand, suggested, “a more modern setup. These days Dia De Los Muertos is very forgotten by most families. Maybe a descendent of Miguel who is really into video games or something like that” could breathe new life into the holiday.

3 Brave

To darkrabbit713’s point, Brave was “not-your-typical-princess movie,” which made it a compelling addition to the Disney princess canon. However, this Reddit user wasn’t alone in pointing out a few of the film’s flaws. Their solution was a sequel because Merida “deserves a tale that will make her and her talents truly shine. A sequel with a really well-crafted script would do her character a lot of good.”

2 Finding Nemo

1 Ratatouille

For some Pixar fans, Ratatouille the Musical only whet their appetite for more Ratatouille content. While some fans felt there was no need to build off of the original film, other fans like Houeclipse simply said, “Ratatouille 2 please.”

Dima_22 filled in the plot, describing a possible premise as “maybe they could show how the new restaurant is doing and something like a big critic happens or someone gets sick from the food and blames Remy.” Another user, however, felt Pixar should look backward before they look forward, insisting, “I wouldn’t mind a Ratatouille prequel!”
