The Sims 4 team began to tease the latest expansion this week, the last release listed on the Summer Roadmap, and now the trailer has been revealed. The expansion is called Cottage Living and will be available on July 22 for PC, Mac, and Console.

The tease began when a group of Game Changers received postcards from Henford on Bagley, signed by the familiar-sounding A. Crumplebottom – a name Sims franchise veterans will recognize from earlier games. As these cards began to circulate on social media they were followed by a short reaction video of Simmers being shown the theme of the new pack. You can now view the trailer for yourself.

The accompanying press release states that Cottage Living is set in the town of Henford-On Bagley, a world reminiscent of rural European locations. Sims will be able to fully embrace village life by growing their own food, raising animals, and connecting with nature.

“The Sims 4 offers players a variety of activities and locations that expand their Sims’ experience, and Cottage Living will offer them an abundance of new ways to embrace village life,” said Antonio Romeo, Producer of The Sims 4 Cottage Living. “This pack enables Sims to live their garden-to-table lifestyle, and we look forward to players living out their fantasies of building a charming cottage in the new world, Henford-on-Bagley.”

Farming is a theme that’s been mentioned for a long time and this pack looks likely to fulfill that desire. Sims can grow their own fruits and vegetables as well as raising animals including cows, chickens, and llamas. There’s a local farmers market and even a village fair where you can see if your crops are the best in town.

Sims will be able to explore the countryside, go for a picnic, venture into the forest and befriend wild rabbits and birds. There’s also a new cross-stitch hobby to enjoy in your downtime. The trailer also shows a toddler befriending a chick and a child doing cross-stitch making it appear likely that participating in country life can be a family affair.

The Sims 4: Cottage Living will be available on July 22, 2021, for PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One. Those purchasing the pack before September 2, 2021 will receive a rideable scenic commuting bicycle, an “onward” adventurous gnome statue, and Bramblewood’s Delightful tree.
