October’s Animal Crossing Direct brought with it big news for fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it was revealed that the game’s long-awaited 2.0 update would finally be released on November 5 with a wide array of game-changing new content, including the return of fan-favorite aspects of the series such as Brewster and Gyroids. Although only three gyroids were specifically named in the reveal trailer, since the update dropped dedicated Animal Crossing fans have already begun to uncover all of the new models in the series.
The October 15 Animal Crossing Direct showcased quite a few of the other significant expansions being added to the game, which to many fans was long-awaited given the relative lack of substantial New Horizons updates in the months prior to the 2.0 update. Gyroids are far from the only familiar thing making a return to the series. NPCs like Kapp’n and Harriet are both making comebacks, and along with them come updates to Harv’s Island as well as new Mystery Island Tours.
In most Animal Crossing games, Gyroids can be dug up from the ground and placed as furniture items. Each one makes a unique noise, and the sounds can be combined or matched up to K.K. Slider song tracks. Previously, the NPC Lloid was the only Gyroid in New Horizons, and the 2.0 update marks the first time the furniture items will be appearing in the game proper. Another first is the fact that they can now be customized in different colors, and Gyroid Fragments can now be buried and later dug up as a fully-functioning Gyroid. Although it’s hard to say just how to obtain all of the many Gyroids that can now be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, here’s a comprehensive list of what’s been found so far.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Aluminoid
The aluminoid is the perfect addition to any sci-fi-themed Animal Crossing room, as it’s shaped just like a robot and comes in metallic colors such as silver, copper, black and blue. This model of Gyroid, along with its alternate colors, was uncovered by Nintendo Wire. While it isn’t immediately clear from the name what sort of noise it might make, robotic beeping or clanging seem like probable candidates.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Arfoid
For any animal-loving New Horizons fans, the arfoid should prove to be a cute and fun accessory. Its face resembles that of a dog, and it comes in yellow, brown, green, pink, and blue, meaning it’s well-suited to bright rooms or even outdoor areas. If Gyroids can be given as gifts, it could even make a great present for a dog villager like Bones or Lucky. This Gyroid most likely makes a barking sound.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Babbloid
Covered in polka-dots, the babbloid has a wide range of colors including blue, pink, green, purple, brown, and white. The white variety comes with multicolored spots to make it stand out better, while the others are more monochromatic. This Gyroid was showcased, though not named, in the Animal Crossing reveal and should fit in well with pastel house exteriors in New Horizons.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Bendoid
The bendoid is tall, thin, and relatively square-shaped compared to many other Gyroid models. It comes in more earth-toned colors like orange, beige, green, brown, gray, and blue. It could perhaps fit in better in an outdoor area.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Bloopoid
Shaped something like a teardrop, if the name is any indication the bloopoid makes an aquatic “blooping” noise and comes in colors of blue, red, green, and purple, giving it relatively fewer customization options than many other models of Gyroid as seen in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Boioingoid
Shaped vaguely like a spring and likely to make a noise similar to that, boioingoids can be customized to be orange, green, blue, purple, black, and wood. The wooden variety in particular should fit in well with natural wood furniture, which there are plenty of DIY recipes for to be found in New Horizons.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Boomoid
Boomoids are more squat than some other Gyroid models, and given the name probably make either a low-pitched or percussion-sounding noise when placed. Their color varieties include brown, camel, green, blue, purple, and black.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Brewstoid
One of the more mysterious Gyroid models uncovered in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the brewstoid, which is shaped much like Brewster and can’t be customized unlike the other Gyroids in the game. It’s probable that this Gyroid can’t be dug up like regular ones, either, and players may have to befriend Brewster in order to unlock it.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Bubbloid
It seems that the bubbloid will make some kind of bubbling noise, and it comes in brown, green, pink, purple, and white. It might pair well with the bloopoid.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Bwongoid
Another short and round Gyroid, the bwongoid seems as though it will sound something like a gong. It comes in brown, yellow, green, and blue.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Clatteroid
Another Gyroid featured in the Animal Crossing Direct trailer, the clatteroid makes a clattering noise and comes with unique color palettes that should help it fit in with any type of room. Pop, natural, cool, cute, and chic are the five customization options that can be picked between.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Crumploid
Looking akin to crumpled paper, the crumploid comes in yellow, brown, blue, red, green, and black colors.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Dootoid
Compared to other Gyroids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the dootoid has an unusually unique face and comes with gray, brown, green, pink, blue, white, and black color options. It’s likely to make a short noise that might sound like a horn being blown.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Drummoid
The drummoid’s name could imply that it makes a sound like a drum, and it comes with unique dual-tone customizations that range from blue, green, and purple to brown and gray.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Flutteroid
The flutteroid is one of few Gyroids that seems to have hair, and its customization options are all bright and vivid. It comes in orange, yellow, green, pink, and purple.

Another bell-shaped Gyroid, and one that probably makes a bell-like noise, the jingloid can be customized like other furniture in New Horizons to be purple, gold, pink, silver, or blue.

The laseroid is another sci-fi-themed Gyroid, and can be green, yellow, pink, blue, or silver.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Oinkoid
Shaped like a pig and with a face that matches, the oinkoid comes in beige, brown, yellow, blue, pink, and black.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Petaloid
The petaloid is shaped like a plant, and its colors seem to match those of common flowers. Green, brown, yellow, blue, pink, purple, and white are all available as customization options.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Rattloid
As the name seems to imply, the rattloid makes a rattling sound and comes with red, brown, white, blue, green, and black color variants.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Ringoid
Yet another bell-shaped and more than likely bell-sounding Gyroid, the ringoid can be red, yellow, green, blue, purple, or white.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Rumbloid
The rumbloid is likely to make a deep rumbling noise that should fit in well with many of the K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It could be customized to become purple, yellow, green, pink, blue, white, or gray.

The scatteroid appears to have a grass skirt and hat and can be brown, light brown, green, pink, or white.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Spikenoid
Spikenoids look to be themed after a monster or some kind of lizard, complete with spikes atop its body. It could be green, orange, brown, blue, light green, camel, or gray.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Sproingoid
Coming in colors ranging from green and camel to red and blue, the sproingoid looks akin to a frog and might make a springing noise.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Squeakoid
Squeakoids can be painted in a wide range of colors, including yellow, white, pink, and brown, and the multicolored accessories on top of them change colors according to customization. While it isn’t quite clear what noise squeakoids will make, if the name is any indication, it’s likely that they’ll make some sort of high-pitched squeaking sound that should pair well with other Animal Crossing 2.0 Gyroids that are lower in tone.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Squeezoid
The squeezoid was one of three Gyroids introduced during the Animal Crossing Direct, though at the time not much was seen of it other than the fact that, like most Gyroids, it can be dug up out of the ground, presumably after being buried in fragment form. It can be beige, yellow, pink, blue, white, or black.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Stelloid
A tall and thin Gyroid model, stelloids come in green, yellow, blue, white, and black, appearing strange and otherworldly. They could fit in great with Celeste’s space items in New Horizons.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Thwopoid
Thwopoids only have four color customization options, and Animal Crossing players can pick between pink, beige, green, or gray.

Round and perhaps keeping time like a metronome, tockoids also come with pop, natural, cool, cute, and chic color schemes.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Tremoloid
Tremoloid are far less straight-edged than many other Gyroids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and come with color variants of blue, yellow, green, purple, and white.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Twangoid
The twangoid looks and sounds like a plucked string instrument, akin to a banjo, and can be brown, yellow, green, blue, and black.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Wallopoid
Shaped like a ghost, wallopoids have striped arms that can be painted camel, brown, green, blue, white, or black.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Whirroid
The whirroid model of Gyroid comes in metallic variations of blue, red, gold, and silver. It should blend in well with any lavish items in an Animal Crossing: New Horizons house.
New Animal Crossing Gyroid – Whistloid
Uniquely transparent, the whistloid makes a whistling sound and its glass can be recolored to be blue, brown, yellow, green, pink, or white.

The xylopoid sounds like a xylophone, as the name implies, and comes in yellow, blue, pink, white, and brown. Other Gyroid models featured in previous Animal Crossing games and not listed here are presumably not included in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
