The Batman Who Laughs arrives in Fortnite this week, and his first order of business appears to have been brutally murdering one of the game’s characters.

DC quickly appears to be becoming Fortnite’s favorite brand to cross over with. Controversial as up until this point, the favored brand has been Marvel. Between various skins and even a DC comic book run for Fortnite, all signs are currently pointing towards the Batman creators getting their very own season, just like Marvel did in season four.

The latest crossover comic book arrives this week and with it, an all-new DC skin and accompanying cosmetic items arrive in-game. The Batman Who Laughs, perhaps the most obscure crossover character to date. For those unfamiliar with this even darker version of The Dark Knight, he is from an alternate universe in which Bruce Wayne succumbs to Joker’s toxin.

A couple of pages from the next issue of the crossover comic have been shared online and have revealed The Batman Who Laugh’s first order of business. Killing poor Tomatohead. As you can see in the tweet below, Tomatohead attempts to get the jump on The Batman Who Laughs, only to be thwarted and have his head squashed by the Gotham resident.

Fortnite isn’t afraid to kill off its characters. Peely was brutally murdered by Ryu during the opening cinematic for season six. However, since his death happened inside The Loop, it’s assumed Peely is technically still alive in Fortnite’s ongoing storyline. The same can’t be said for certain about Tomatohead as its unclear where he was killed, or if his death will carry over into the game.

A teaser dropped by Epic last week also suggests Gotham City as a whole will play a bigger role in the future. The clip, which you can check out above, shows The Foundation washing up on the shore of Batman’s home. Perhaps we will finally find out if the member of The Seven is voiced by The Rock or not.
