Archer isn’t a show about honorable people. The main characters, for instance, are a bunch of morally bankrupt individuals – no offense to the cast who share similarities to the people they voice. Even so, most of them are still likable, some because of their entertainment value and others because they seem more decent than those around them.

However, they are not all equal in this regard. While watching through the many seasons of the show, it’s noticeable that some characters are simply easier to appreciate than others. So have a look at who are the most and least appealing.

10 Barry Dylan

Barry is by far the most hated main character in the series. But that’s intentional, as he is the main villain, after all. And it’s a role he plays well, as his constant attempts to kill Sterling plus his overall arrogant attitude make it easy to dislike him.

That being said, he is still regularly entertaining, especially when having conversations with himself. It doesn’t help fans warm up to him, though.

9 Cyril Figgis

Initially, Cyril seems to be among the show’s most honorable individuals. As time goes on, though, it becomes clear that he’s pretty selfish and dishonest. And it’s the underhandedness of his misdeeds that really makes him hard to appreciate.

At least the likes of Sterling and Cheryl don’t try to hide their immoral behavior. Nor do they whine and complain as often as Cyril does. Thankfully, he provides enough laughs to avoid becoming completely hateable.

8 Malory Archer

There’s no denying that Malory is a cruel human being. After all, this is a woman who constantly makes fun of a baby’s weight. Her wickedness, however, is part of her charm.

She’s incredibly funny because of how mean she is – like many of Jessica Walter’s characters. That humor makes her a bit more likable. Yet, viewers can’t completely turn a blind eye to all of her awful traits just because she’s entertaining.

7 Cheryl Tunt

Cheryl has pretty much no sense of right and wrong. This woman casually laughs at others’ misfortune as she lacks any empathy. Yet, it’s still hard to truly hate her. She is so deranged that the awful things she says and does are usually comical. What’s more, the woman does have one good characteristic, her generosity.

Nobody is claiming the character regular gives to charity, but anytime the agency needs to use her immense wealth, she usually doesn’t mind. Although, that could be because she’s one of the dumbest characters in the series.

6 Ray Gillette

While no one on the show is an angel, Ray is better than most. He tends to help out where he can and usually treats his co-workers with respect, even if he seldom gets the same in return. He’s not perfect, as evidenced by the time he pretends to be in a wheelchair.

Although, his transgressions are usually easier to forgive because of their rareness. Plus, the man has such incredibly bad luck – primarily with injuries – that’s it’s hard not to feel sorry for him.

5 Sterling Archer

Egotistical, self-centered, dishonest… the list of Sterling’s distasteful characteristics is long. However, he’s also a hero. During the show, he saves more people than anyone else due to his insane combat capabilities. Yes, he might do it while bragging about his skills, but at least he still saves the day.

What’s more, there are several occasions during the series where he proves that he’s got a good heart. For instance, when he lets a pregnant Lana have the last scuba suit, risking his life in the process. Also, the fact that he’s absolutely hilarious makes it easier to like him – even if some of his jokes are controversial.

4 Woodhouse

Who can honesty dislike Woodhouse? He’s the most sympathetic figure in the series because he’s constantly getting bullied and mistreated by Sterling. Also, he’s a genuine war hero as he served in WWI.

Unfortunately, his overall likability is hurt by the fact viewers rarely hear him speak due to Sterling always interrupting him. It’s hard to appreciate someone without truly knowing them. He deserves a lot more respect than the Archer family gives him, though.

3 Pam Poovey

In the real-world, Pam wouldn’t seem that noble, yet alongside the terrible people in the show, she’s almost a saint. She rarely mistreats anyone and only attacks those who deserve it or get in her way.

Although, the biggest reason viewers like her is due to her sense of humor. From witty one-liners to great physical comedy, she’s one of the show’s funniest characters. If only her co-workers appreciated her more.

2 Lana Kane

There has always been a debate about who is the better field agent between Lana and Sterling. Either way, it’s hard to deny Lana’s espionage skills, and like Sterling, she often uses them to help people. However, unlike her occasional love interest, she doesn’t have many bad traits.

Yes, she sometimes treats Cyril poorly – albeit he does the same – but overall, she’s a decent person. She’s empathetic, kind, and she seems to care about doing what’s right.

1 Dr. Krieger

Fictional mad scientists tend to be either be very popular or extremely hated. Krieger fits into the former category. Fans love the guy because of how often he makes them laugh. Sometimes, he’s funny because of his outrageous antics; other times, he makes witty little comments.

Morally-speaking, he isn’t the best as a lot of his experiments are questionable in that regard. In his defense, though, he conducts most of them out of intrigue instead of malice. So, it’s hard to stay mad at him.
