No one likes applying for jobs. It’s an arduous, thankless chore that fills most of us with dread. You have to upload a CV only to be forced to enter all your employment history into a site manually anyway – absurd, annoying, asinine. On top of the time sink involved in applying for jobs, you also have to make sure you stand out from the crowd, but how are you meant to do that with a few sheets of paper? Well, one aspiring 3D artist, who we know only as Cameron and sultrysnake has devised a resume so chaotic it caught the attention of developers and fans on Twitter.

Dave Oshry, CEO of New Blood Interactive, a game dev collective, posted Cameron’s fantastic and memorable WordArt resume on Twitter yesterday, and it blew up quickly. He tweeted some pictures of the resume and wrote, “This is the best resume for an aspiring 3D artist I have ever seen. The rest of you have been put on notice.”

It’s easy to see why Cameron’s resume stands out from all the others – each page is coloured an almost sickly lime green, and the first page asks if we want some “Shitty PS1 Models” in WordArt we were all using back in high school to make PowerPoint presentations look flashier. Well, this resume certainly pops – it stands out visually and it’s brimming with personality.

Not only is Cameron’s chaotic resume funny, but he’s also brutally honest about what he wants. He’s, “Looking to get his foot in the door literally anywhere to escape my current IT nightmare hell-world gig!” We can all relate to the struggle of trying to pursue creative passions while bound to an awful job that sucks the life out of us.

The real cherry on top of the resume is that all his artwork is excellent. His models aren’t “shitty PS1 models”, but retro low-poly designs. He has a good range of work to boot – a mall interior, character models, guns (complete with Batman-style pew-pews), and props. He’s a talented artist and his ability to market himself is outstanding.

We hope he does get his foot in the door and escapes his nightmare IT gig. Check out his portfolio if you’d like to hire him yourself.
