UPDATED: Includes original source.

An Avengers fan video edited together scenes for the questionable Ant-Man/Thanos theory for Avengers: Endgame that’s been making the rounds online. Though highly improbable, the theory offers visual proof that it’s still technically possible – in an alternate reality, at the very least.

Now that the Avengers are dedicating all of their efforts to not only stopping Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, but reversing the damage he’s done, fans are speculating as to what sort of action they’ll take. And while some of the more concrete theories revolve around the Quantum Realm from Ant-Man and time travel, there is one theory that hones in on Ant-Man specifically. In this theory, the idea idea is that Ant-Man uses his shrinking abilities to enter Thanos’ butt, whereupon he’ll use his enlarging abilities once inside of him to cause Thanos to explode from the inside out. Though this is one of the more ridiculous theories out there, one fan edited a video that shows what exactly the scenario might look like were it to ever play out.

Kevin T. (aka @cinematicmemes) posted a video on Twitter – using footage from Avengers: Infinity War and a video from the YouTube channel Hello There – that imagines one of the 14,000,605 endings that Doctor Strange sees at the end of the film. The one ending is the Ant-Man/Thanos theory, and it features the scenario in full detail – from Ant-Man jumping in the air to Thanos exploding into pieces. Check out the video below:

Marvel fans have clearly been having a lot of fun with this theory in the buildup to Avengers: Endgame. Another fan created a GIF of Ant-Man jumping into Thanos’ butt by using footage from the latest Avengers: Endgame trailer, while Josh Brolin, the actor who plays Thanos, has also joined in on the fun. He posted a video on Instagram in which he is sitting on the toilet, evidently attempting to force Ant-Man out. He even included the hashtag #flushantman.

As ridiculous as the whole theory is, it’s still technically possible that directors Joe and Anthony Russo might consider it canon – at least for the sake of having fun. Given the millions of different outcomes that Doctor Strange saw at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, who’s to say that this outcome wasn’t at least attempted? When people get desperate – even heroes as powerful as the Avengers – rules and decency tend to go out the window. And seeing as desperate times call for desperate measures, if ever there was someone to brave this journey, it’s Scott Lang.
