Former star of The Bachelor Nick Viall stuck with a Bachelor Nation theme for this year’s Halloween costume. In reference to the franchise’s newest star, pilot Peter Weber, Viall dressed up as a pilot and even threw a little shade Weber’s way in the process by finishing off the costume with a band-aid on his forehead.
Earlier this month, Weber suffered a serious face injury while filming the upcoming season the The Bachelor. While golfing in Costa Rica, he slipped while stepping into his cart and split his face open on two cocktail glasses. He was rushed to the hospital and treated by a special surgeon who gave him a whopping 22 stitches to sew up the wound. Although everyone worried about continued production on the newest season, host Chris Harrison later confirmed that the star was completely OK. Production proceeded less than 24 hours later and Weber’s freak accident was totally forgotten. Viall, however – the star of Season 21 of The Bachelor – isn’t quite ready to let go of the drama.
In an Instagram post over the weekend, Viall revealed this year’s Halloween costume. Going back to his Bachelor Nation roots, Viall dressed up as Weber, complete with a pilot’s uniform and a rose. Viall’s costume also featured one other creative addition: a band-aid on his forehead. The band-aid clearly poked fun at Weber’s recent facial injury, but in case his intent wasn’t clear enough, Viall also loosely referenced the accident in his caption. “Just a Pilot on a flight for love .. will probably crash into a windmill tonight,” Viall wrote, neatly referencing both Weber’s famous time in a windmill with Hannah Brown on this past season of The Bachelorette and his face injury.

Although Viall’s costume may have been perceived negatively, he received plenty of support from his fellow Bachelor Nation stars and other celebrities, who clearly took the ensemble as a joke. “HAHAHAHA Brilliant… see you soooooooon 💀,” singer Demi Lovato wrote. Her comments were echoed by other notable names such as Tayshia Adams and Sharleen Joynt, who both commented on the funny and clever nature of the picture.
Although Viall’s costume may seem a little harsh considering the reported seriousness of the injury, all signs point to the fact that Pilot Pete is completely fine. In addition, Viall has a friendly relationship with Weber. He posted pictures of the two of them together on more than one occasion, often poking fun at fans’ claims that they look alike. While Viall may have been throwing shade Weber’s way, it’s more likely that he was simply making an innocent joke with no ill intention. Plus, fans have to admit, the costume was pretty clever. Weber’s still off filming his season of the The Bachelor, so we’ll have to wait until he gets back to get his true reaction to Viall’s costume.
