Baskin Robbins Introduces Pokemon Ice Cream Treats

Baskin-Robbins and the Pokemon Company have announced a joint venture to promote the upcoming project, ‘Pokemon the Movie: Koko.’ This crossover will include a variety of different Pokemon-themed treats and unique packaging art.

This ice cream will mainly feature the iconic series’ electric ambassador Pikachu, bringing about the return of past flavors and introducing new one like yellow Pikachu sorbet and triple soda. These flavors will be served with cups and spoons depicting unique artwork.

The promo also includes a Pokemon ‘Ice cream master’ set and a box containing poke balls full of ice cream, with the box even unfolding into a board game once finished. Not limiting themselves to purely scoops, however, Baskin-Robbins has also promised an ice cream cake featuring Pikachu and Eevee, as well as popular Galarian additions, Scorbunny and Yamper, also including unique artwork on the packaging.

This collaboration is meant to promote the latest Pokemon movie which features shiny Celebi and the first film depiction of Generation 8’s mysterious legendary, Zarude. Many fans will be pleased to learn more about the newest mythical pokemon, as not a great deal has been revealed since its announcement earlier in 2020. The film does also include a promo for the Pokemon Sword and Shield games, as movie tickets will include a code to access an event showcasing both shiny Celebi and Zarude on August 7th.

Pokemon the Movie: Koko is the 23rd feature film for the Pokemon company and yet another collaboration between two popular brands. Unfortunately for global fans, however, this ice cream promo will only be available in Japan, running from July 20 to August 30, 2020. There are currently no announced plans to expand beyond Japan, but fans can at least check out the new movie.

Pokemon the Movie: Koko was delayed by Covid-19, but is set to be released this winter in 2020.
