You’ll be seeing Jimmy McGill again very soon, as AMC has finally announced a premiere date for Better Call Saul season 4: August 6, 2018. The third season of the show premiered in April 2017 and wrapped in June, and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for any news as to when the Breaking Bad spinoff will return. The delay is likely due to the fact that the show wasn’t renewed until the end of the third season, meaning that the writers got a later start than usual when it came to putting together the next season’s episodes.

Better Call Saul was created by Breaking Bad duo Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, and debuted on AMC in 2015. The series serves as a prequel to Breaking Bad, centered on lawyer Jimmy McGill as he tries (and ultimately fails) to build a legitimate, respectable career for himself. It also features a number of other returning cast members from Breaking Bad, including Jonathan Banks, Giancarlo Esposito, and Mark Margolis.

It was originally believed that Better Call Saul season 4 would premiere in September, but we’ll actually be getting it even sooner than expected. AMC has confirmed the August 6 premiere date (via The Wrap), with new AMC series Lodge 49 debuting immediately afterwards. Led by Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street), Lodge 49 is described as “a light-hearted, endearing modern fable set in Long Beach, California,” with Russell playing a “disarmingly optimistic” ex-surfer who joins a fraternity after the death of his father.

Better Call Saul’s ratings have been ticking downwards season-over-by season, but the season 3 finale still managed to draw 1.85 million viewers. In any case, the series doesn’t have to worry too much about cancelation since the producers have said that it won’t run any longer than Breaking Bad (which wrapped up its story after a powerful five seasons). Check out the official synopsis for Better Call Saul season 4 below:

In “Better Call Saul’s” fourth season, Chuck’s death catalyzes Jimmy McGill’s (Odenkirk) transformation into Saul Goodman. In the wake of his loss, Jimmy takes steps into the criminal world that will put his future as a lawyer – and his relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) – in jeopardy. Chuck’s (Michael McKean) death deeply affects former colleagues Howard (Patrick Fabian) and Kim as well, putting the two of them once again on opposite sides of a battle sparked by the Brothers McGill.

Meanwhile, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) takes a more active role as Madrigal Electromotive’s newest (and most thorough) security consultant. It’s a volatile time to be in Gus Fring’s (Giancarlo Esposito) employ, as Hector’s collapse sends shock waves throughout the Albuquerque underworld and throws the cartel into chaos — tearing apart both Gus and Nacho’s (Michael Mando) well-laid plans. While Gus changes course, Nacho finds himself in the crosshairs of deadly forces.
