There have been rumors flying around the internet that Nintendo is getting set to reveal a follow-up to Pokemon Black and White, in the form of Pokemon Gray, and it would appear that this reveal may be happening in the very near future. The Pokemon Company will be making their first ever appearance at this year’s Jump Festa event in Japan, and they have hinted at some potentially big news coming from the event, and while Pokemon Gray is far from confirmed, it seems like the most likely candidate.

This news comes straight from the latest issue of Jump magazine, and it claims that those in attendance at the Tokyo-based event will be in for a “big surprise” as well as “surprising information on the show floor.” Since this is the first time Pocket Monsters have invaded the convention, there will surely be some big Pokemon-related announcements, but the real question is just what exactly they may be.

One would think that Nintendo would want to save the Pokemon Gray announcement for a larger event where it is sure to get proper attention, so maybe this big surprise is simply a new partnership. If that’s the case, then will we see some bizarre cross-overs? Our guess: No, probably not. However, the currently unknown information may be anything, and speculation is sure to explode all over the web until the news is finally revealed — regardless of how large or small it actually turns out to be.

For the time being, it’s hard to make an accurate prediction, but we’ll be paying close attention to see if the news is anything post-worthy. If the announcement isn’t a third game in the Black and White saga, then avid fans of the franchise should remain calm because the game is definitely en route. It’s simply a matter of time and patience. Although, whether or not Nintendo has had Pokemon Gray updated to be a 3DS-exclusive with a plethora of new features and 3D gameplay, is likely also a factor for Pokemon fans who are currently 3DS-less.
