The replacement for the traditional San Diego Comic-Con, Comic-Con@Home, has just revealed their lineup of TV and film panels with two notable companies missing. As has been the case for all major conventions this year, there will be no traditional International San Diego Comic-Con in 2020 due to the global pandemic. In exchange, the event organizers opted to host a completely online and free event from July 22nd to the 26th.

Over the past few weeks the full schedule of panels to be hosted at Comic-Con@Home has been rolling out and we now know the full details of their TV and film coverage and panels. The biggest surprise to fans of the traditional convention is the lack of any Marvel Studios or Warner Brothers Studios representation. The only presence WB has are a few panels for TV shows they produce, but there’s nothing on the schedule for any of their DC properties.

Marvel, almost synonymous with comic books, is another major omission. Ever since being acquired by Disney, and even long before, Marvel has always used Comic-Con as a platform for big announcements for their MCU films, including cast announcements, trailer reveals, and exclusive reveals of upcoming projects. Marvel and WB’s hall H panels were often the highlight of the entire convention for fans and press.

While DC does have its upcoming DC FanDome event in August where it can focus on promoting their upcoming film and TV content, Marvel doesn’t have anything planned for 2020 at the moment. Disney does host the D23 Expo, which could be a vehicle for Marvel properties, but considering they also cancelled their Star Wars event this year, it seems unlikely that we will be seeing anything related to the MCU.

As far as what there is left to look forward to at Comic-Con@Home, there are still some exciting movie panels and events to see. Bill & Ted Face the Music, Antlers, Deep Blue Sea 3, and the 15 year reunion of the cast of Constantine are a few standouts. For TV there will still be panels for His Dark Materials, The Walking Dead, The Boys, Archer, a huge Star Trek Comic-Con sitepanel, and much more. Check out the full schedule of panels on the official.
