Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 is a vibrant and futuristic megalopolis for players to explore. The open-world RPG is currently only available to experience from a first-person viewpoint, however, which has led some players to ask CD Projekt Red for a third-person feature. Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 only officially has a first-person viewpoint camera. However, many players would like a third-person camera option, a feature found in similar games from Bethesda’s Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. The game is built with a first-person perspective in mind, though, which is why fans have to rely on mods in order to see Cyberpunk 2077 in third-person themselves.
Cyberpunk 2077 had only been out for a couple of weeks before modders were already working on ways to get a third-person camera into the game. This new mod is created by Jelle Bakker on NexusMods. Titled JB – TPP MOD WIP THIRD PERSON, the mod lets users toggle between viewpoints and walk around Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a great way for players to check out their latest outfits and move around the streets, all while seeing their characters interact with others in third-person. The mod takes a little work to implement, especially when it comes to coding in the character’s head, but it appears to work better than most of the other mods out there.
This newest third-person mod does have a few issues, however. Players will have to move fairly slowly in order to keep the game looking smooth. Quick movements can cause the game to jump and glitch, but it’s not necessarily anything worse that the bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk 2077 already. And while the graphics may not look quite right (or as smooth) on players’ characters, moving slowly makes it less noticeable. For fans looking to experience the game in third-person, this TPP mod is a great solution.
It seems pretty unlikely an official third-person camera will ever get introduced into Cyberpunk 2077. So, for anyone who wants to use a third-person camera while exploring Night City, mods are an ideal way to do that. This newest TPP mod seems to be the best solution for now, although better mods may release and get updates as time goes on. For now, though, it’s a great way to use third-person in Cyberpunk 2077.
