The Pokemon franchise is the highest-grossing media franchise in the world. This financial success comes from several sources, such as video games, anime, and even a Pokemon: Detective Pikachu movie. In addition to different types of media, the brand sells all sorts of merchandise. While there’s already a bunch of Pokemon merchandise on the market, that’s not stopping the company from releasing a new line of products reminiscent of Squishmallows.
Squishmallows are one of the most popular plushy toys on the market. Since the brand was created in 2017, the company has become extremely successful, selling over 5 million plushies. Many fans love their Squishmallows so much that they have even resold for over $2,000 on sites like eBay. Due to the popular appeal of these cute and squishy toys, it’s no wonder that other companies, such as Pokemon, would want to make their own line of plushies similar to Squishmallows.
Recently, a new line of Pokemon merchandise called Squishy plushies was announced. While these plushies have a strong resemblance to Squishmallows, it is important to note these Pokemon plushies are independent; they are not affiliated with the Squishmallows brand. Instead, it is the Pokemon company’s attempt to appeal to fans that want plushy versions of some of their favorite Pokemon.
Some of the Pokemon available as part of the Squishy collection include Pikachu, Ditto, Jigglypuff, Oddish, and Wooloo. In addition to offering many types of Pokemon, these plushies come in several sizes and corresponding prices. For those interested in picking up one of these Squishy plushies for themselves, these products can be found at the Pokemon Center website. However, several Squishy products, such as the Pokemon Ditto Squishy, are already sold out. Currently, there is no estimated time for when these items are expected to be back in stock.
It’s exciting for fans of the Pokemon franchise to have a new set of plushy toys to collect. Many people on the internet are loving the new plushies. Based on the initial positive feedback of fans, it will be interesting to see if the company decides to expand the line of plushies further by releasing designs for other Pokemon types in the series.
In other news related to the franchise, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are scheduled to release on November 19.
