Not every character on this show can be a hero, and some of them are certainly more likable or redeeming than others. Just like in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, some like to keep the good, while others like to spark a little chaos. It’s time to dive into the morality of the characters from this Netflix series.

10 Jen Harding: Chaotic Good

Jen Harding is a great example of this moral alignment. Those representing chaos are willing to change the system, and they aren’t huge rule followers. They like freedom, and they’re willing to be a bit reckless to find their freedom and goals.

However, Jen never acts this way out of hate or evil. Rather, she almost always has good intentions. She may do some awful things, but she always does the right thing in the end. She cares deeply about her family, and she has a pretty strong moral compass. However, Jen is willing to stir the pot to make change.

9 Steve Wood: Chaotic Neutral

Steve isn’t exactly evil, but he’s certainly not good. He doesn’t care about the systems in place or the rules governing him, despite the fact that he benefits from society and lives a rich and lavish life. Of course, he does this mainly because he’s breaking the law.

He really only cares about himself, and not the general good, which definitely makes him chaotic neutral. While Steve doesn’t exactly actively try to harm others, he is, however, willing to step over people to get what he wants.

8 Charlie Harding: Chaotic Good

Like mother like son, and Charlie Harding is also chaotic good. While Charlie acts like he’s a bit more evil or even just neutral, he’s really just a teenager trying to be cool. Charlie is good at heart, and protects his mother at all costs, despite their trying relationship.

However, Charlie is also definitely a rebel. He doesn’t like rules, and he definitely goes out of his way to disobey his mom and try to make a little chaos. Charlie and Jen argue because they’re actually just really similar.

7 Christopher Doyle: True Neutral

Christopher offers a lot of comedic relief, and he is Jen’s rock during a lot of difficulties. While he’s there for her when it counts, he also draws a line and isn’t willing to drop everything or excuse her reckless behavior. This makes him neutral, he’ll help until it’s inconvenient.

For chaos and good, Christopher is also pretty indifferent. He’s not super straight-and-narrow, but he also doesn’t rebel or purposefully try to go against the norm. This character is pretty true neutral on the spectrum.

6 Nick Prager: Neutral Good

This officer almost always acts by the book, but fans also know that he is willing to be a bit secretive or rebellious when he feels like that’s the best thing to do. He always acts in the best interest of others (even after Judy breaks his heart), which makes him good.

However, he’s willing to do so even if it does slightly bend the rules. He doesn’t go out of his way to do so, but he’s not married to them. Therefore, Nick Prager is neutral good, meaning he’ll dance around the rules if that’s what his heart tells him to do.

5 Michelle Gutierrez: Neutral Good

Michelle is a free-spirited, smart, and headstrong character. She’s also a character that is neutral good, because she also doesn’t feel beholden to rules and laws and norms. Rather, she does what her heart says, and doesn’t think too much about if it’s lawful or lawless.

On the other axis, Michelle is certainly good. She has strong morals, and acts selflessly and honorably in all aspects of her life. She is kind to those around her, and wants to help them in any way she can. It makes her a likable character that fans root for.

4 Henry Harding: Lawful Good

Henry may just be a kid, but there is no doubt in any fan’s mind that he has a heart of gold. He’s a bit different from his mother, mainly because he always sees the good and innocent in everything, and never really does anything rebellious or bad.

This sweet character will tell his mom if he’s done anything remotely ‘chaotic’, but there really isn’t any time he does. Beyond that, Henry cares so much about everyone and everything, from a toy bird to his family to Judy.

3 Ana Perez: Neutral Good

Ana Perez is one tough cookie, and she really isn’t warm to Judy or Jen. However, her heart is really just set on finding justice and the truth. She is very law-abiding and passionate about her duties as a detective. However, fans remember Ana letting Jen off the hook – because it was the right thing to do, despite being illegal.

While she can be tough to crack or reluctant to open up, Ana always acts with good intentions. She is good, because she never intends to harm, manipulate, or oppress. She just wants to do the right thing and get it done.

2 Lorna Harding: Neutral Evil

Lorna might be the only character that could be considered evil, and viewers certainly aren’t fans. She’s the most selfish in the series, and has no hesitation in turning on Jen when it’s in her best interest. She doesn’t care if she hurts her feelings or steps on her toes.

Lorna lives her own life without much care for how it affects others. She wants to come out on top. Of course, she’s not exactly chaotic. Rather, she bends rules or lives the straight-and-narrow as long as it suits her.

1 Judy Hale: Lawful Good

There’s no denying that Judy has certainly broken a lot of laws and a lot of rules. However, it’s more than clear to fans that it kills her inside. Judy absolutely hates doing anything against her morals or against society’s norms. It’s what brings her to Jen in the first place.

It eats away at her and proves that she is nothing but lawful. Judy also makes some bad choices, but she never has bad intentions. Judy’s heart is almost too good for the world, and it puts her in some bad situations. But still, she always wants the best for everyone around her.
