Thanks to the new weapon mods and exotic provided in Shadowkeep, you can now easily defeat Argos in Destiny 2’s Eater of World’s raid lair.

Normally, the fight to defeat Argos at the end of the Leviathan, Eater of Worlds quest is quite the ordeal. You first have to battle your way to it (not an easy feat). After that, you have to follow a complicated process to take down Argos’ shields. You have to charge some cannons with elemental torches, then three players have to fire at some orbs at the same time in order to move them, while the remaining players fire these cannons once the shields are down. And if you screw up, Argos unleashes a team-wiping attack that forces you to start all over again.

At least, that’s how it used to go. Now, you don’t need to bother with any of that. You can just shoot right past the big robot’s shields using Anti-Barrier Rounds.

Using Anti-Barrier Rounds

Anti-Barrier Rounds were introduced with Shadowkeep’s seasonal artifact, The Gate Lord’s Eye. Once installed on a hand cannon, submachine gun, or auto rifle, a player’s rounds will completely bypass enemy shields, making them super useful against shielded enemies.

Eriana’s Vow, a new exotic hand cannon, has built-in Anti-Barrier Rounds but also has a ton of damage and range, making it perfect for the task of killing Argos.

Taking Down Argos

With a team of Titans and Warlocks, this video shows just how easy it is to kill Argos without going through the rigamarole of taking down its shields first. Just take your Eriana’s Vow, point, and click. Since Eriana’s Vow has great range, you can deal fine damage right from the edge of the map, with Titans and Warlocks dropping bubbles, walls, and healing wells as necessary.

Mods that increase the number of special ammo drops are necessary to keep your Vow well supplied, but eventually, you can take down Argos with a constant barrage of Vow hand cannon shells.

Check out the video above to see how the action goes down. Or, you can just skip to the last three minutes if you want a good summary. The strategy doesn’t really change much.
