When the Ninth Doctor absorbed the immense power of the time vortex from Rose, his body began breaking down, which triggered a new regeneration into his Tenth form. The experience was traumatic for Rose, who didn’t understand what was happening and believed she had lost the Doctor she cared so much for. Before he could even get started, the Tenth Doctor began analyzing his new teeth before snapping back to reality. It helped bridge the concept of regeneration for a whole new generation.

9 The Christmas Invasion

The Doctor began his new regeneration during the Christmas holidays, which coincided with an invasion by a Sycorax ship. Reuniting with his old companion Sarah Jane Smith was enough to stir plenty of feelings, especially when she chastised him for abandoning her back to her normal, everyday life. 7 Doomsday

6 Evolution Of The Daleks

The Cult of Skaro made their return in 1930’s Manhattan to enact a new plan, which involved evolving the Daleks into a new form of life. Their leader Dalek Sec went too far, provoking the other Cult members when he attempted to shift the Daleks away from galactic supremacy. In the end, the Cult of Skaro was wiped out, and the Daleks effectively destroyed. All except one – Dalek Caan. The Doctor confronted Caan and spoke this quote in an attempt to finally put an end to the Time War, but Caan fled via emergency temporal shift. The Doctor’s compassion did manage to affect Caan, who would return near the end of the Tenth Doctor’s run.
