Here’s the strongest character each Z-Warrior has defeated in Dragon Ball canon. The Dragon Ball universe is a world where every threat is more challenging than the last. For this reason, the next opponent is always going to be more formidable than the last. Goku has battled no shortage of villains in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super, with each major antagonist pushing him to his limit. As the main character and Dragon Ball’s strongest hero, Goku has beaten enemies such as Vegeta, Frieza, Buu, and more.

Over the years, Goku and all of his allies have gone up against a large number of powerful foes. As the two strongest heroes, Goku and Vegeta naturally have the most impressive wins, as they’re normally the characters who have to save the day when the Earth is threatened. Even so, the weaker Z-Warriors have a few victories of their own under their belts.

Characters like Krillin and Master Roshi don’t get to participate in as many battles as Goku, Vegeta, or even Gohan, but they’ve all been involved in the action at one point or another, with the majority of it coming from Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power arc. Here’s the most impressive victory earned by each of the Z-Warriors in the Dragon Ball franchise.

Goku

Unsurprisingly, the most powerful adversary beaten by Goku is Jiren, the last enemy fighter to go down in the Tournament of Power. Jiren was stronger than everyone in the tournament up until the very end, when Goku finally mastered Ultra Instinct and beat Jiren. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to knock Jiren out of the ring, as his power gave out. Jiren recovered from his defeat and an exhausted Goku had to get help from Frieza and Android 17 to finish him off.

Vegeta

Arguably one of Vegeta’s finest moments in Dragon Ball Super is his win over Top, Universe 11’s second strongest fighter. Top – a warrior who tied with Goku in the Grand Zeno Expo – was more than a match for the Universe 7 team, and his transformation into a God of Destruction made him seemingly unstoppable, even for Vegeta in his Super Saiyan Blue Evolved form. Vegeta had to power up even further to take Top out with his “Final Explosion” attack.

Gohan

Despite falling far behind in his training, Gohan made a comeback and managed to regain his Ultimate form just in time for the Tournament of Power. Gohan held his own throughout the battle, and succeeded in defeating Universe 11’s third strongest warrior, Dyspo. When using his Super Maximum Light Speed Mode, Dypso was shown to be one of Dragon Ball Super’s most powerful characters, as even Golden Frieza couldn’t beat him without help. That’s when Gohan had to swoop in, with Frieza providing assistance through an energy cage that kept Dyspo from taking full advantage of his speed. Though Gohan did most of the work in beating Dyspo, this was admittedly far from a fair fight.

Future Trunks

Future Trunks saw a lot of progression after he made his long-awaited return in Dragon Ball Super. The battles he had gone through, his training with Vegeta, and his anger with his enemies, led to Future Trunks becoming the first and only character to access the Super Saiyan Rage transformation. With its power, he created a blade made out of energy from his broken sword and defeated Fused Zamasu (a villain who was almost a match for Super Saiyan Blue Vegito).

Android 18

Ribrianne was one of Universe 7’s biggest obstacles in the Tournament of Power, as she was a threat that just wouldn’t go away. She spent most of her time battling Android 17 and Android 18. She lost in the second half of the tournament when she was grew in size and unleashed her full power against Android 18, who overcame her attacks and knocked Ribrianne out of the ring.

Piccolo

Piccolo is on his way back to being a force to be reckoned with in the anime. Piccolo eliminated several troublesome fighters in the Tournament of Power, including the invisible Gamisalas. He also used his Special Beam Cannon to help Gohan finish off the two Universe 6 Namekians. An effective demonstration of Piccolo’s power occurred in the lead-up to the tournament when he defeated Super Saiyan 2 Gohan in an effort to help him get back into fighting shape. It was said in the manga continuation that Piccolo is even stronger now than he was in the tournament.

Android 17

Android 17 is Dragon Ball’s fourth strongest hero, behind Gohan. Despite being the winner of the Tournament of Power, 17 didn’t have any noteworthy victories in the Dragon Ball franchise. He survived fights with Top, Jiren, Ribrianne, and Anilaza, but didn’t beat any of them. However, he did eliminate one of Universe 2’s three strongest fighters, Sanka Ku.

Master Roshi

After a power level retcon that made Master Roshi relevant again, Roshi was strong enough to outperform a few of his Universe 7 teammates in the Tournament of Power. Thanks to his significant increase in power, Roshi was able to go up against the leader of the Universe 4, Ganos. Roshi stood his ground even when Ganos transformed into a powerful beast that was steadily growing stronger. By beating Ganos with his Kamehemeha, Roshi prevented Ganos from being a big problem for Goku and Vegeta later on in the tournament.

Yamcha

Yamcha is a character who receives little respect from both the fans and his fellow Z-Warriors. Yamcha was left out of the Tournament of Power and was once regarded as “useless” by Beerus. That being said, Yamcha proved that he was Dragon Ball’s most underestimated hero when he effortlessly defeated Olibu on Otherworld. Olibu is on Cell’s level, so the fact that Yamcha was able to beat him is surprising to say the least.

Tien

Like Krillin, Roshi, and Yamcha, Tien wasn’t capable of beating any of the major villains Dragon Ball Z, so he doesn’t have a long list of big wins. But, Tien did contribute to Universe 7’s victory in the Tournament of Power by battling Universe 2’s Harmira, a highly capable fighter who used his energy attacks as a sniper. Tien had to employ a dangerous combination of his unique abilities (including his Multi-Form attack) to gain the advantage over Harmira. Tien defeated Harmira but was eliminated in the process.

Krillin

Despite being a key supporting character and one of Dragon Ball’s four strongest Earthlings, Krillin hasn’t had many successful solo efforts. In Dragon Ball Z, he was a punching bag for Nappa, the Ginyu Force, and Frieza. His fear kept him from being much help in the Golden Frieza Saga as well. Krillin finally stepped up in the Tournament of Power for a one-on-one match with the blind Majora from Universe 4, who was powerful enough to match up well with Android 18. After discovering that his opponent’s weakness was his sense of smell, Krillin used his dirty shoe as a distraction and eliminated Majora.

Chiaotzu

Tien’s longtime sidekick, Chiaotzu hasn’t been able to keep up with Z-Warriors in quite some time, as he wasn’t even brought along to help fight the androids in the Cell Saga. That’s why his best win is sadly against Guldo, the weakest member of the Ginyu Force. While Tien and Yamcha fought Burter, Jeice, and Recoome, Chiatzu fought Guldo, and blasted him off the planet with an energy blast.
