Yesterday, The Pokemon Company held another Pokemon Presents, one which shared almost 30 minutes worth of updates for current and upcoming Pokemon games. Fans were greatly anticipating this one as it has been several months since the Diamond and Pearl remakes and Pokemon Legends: Arceus were announced.

For anyone who may have somehow missed the presentation, here is a simple breakdown of every announcement that was made. For a more comprehensive look at the announcements, be sure to check the official Pokemon websites and the Pokemon YouTube channel.

Pokemon Unite – New Pokemon and the Mobile Version

Everything Announced at the Pokemon Presents Event on August 18

Unsurprisingly, with Pokemon Unite only releasing last month for the Nintendo Switch, some time was spent on the franchise’s first foray into the MOBA genre. The mobile release for Pokemon Unite is scheduled for September 22. Players can already pre-register for it and, if enough people sign up, special rewards will be handed out, specifically a Unite License for Pikachu and a Festival-style Holowear for the electric mouse Pokemon.

Switch owners are also reminded that anyone who downloads the game before August 31 can unlock the Pokemon Zeraora as a playable character. Those who wish to use him in the mobile version can only do so by linking their accounts between the two versions.

Lastly, two new playable Pokemon were confirmed for the game. There was no mention of Blastoise, who had been leaked prior, but players can look forward to the bulky Mamoswine and the graceful Sylveon to be added at a later date.

Pokemon Cafe Mix is Getting a Revamp

Everything Announced at the Pokemon Presents Event on August 18

Last year, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company released a free-to-play puzzle game called Pokemon Cafe Mix for Switch and mobile. This fall, it will receive an update and a name change to Pokemon Cafe ReMix. Aside from new puzzle elements, additional Pokemon and dress-up options will be added as well. Since it’s completely free with optional microtransactions, it sounds like it’s worth checking out again for both newcomers and fans.

Pokemon Masters EX Celebrates its Two-Year Anniversary

Everything Announced at the Pokemon Presents Event on August 18

Pokemon Masters EX has a lot of celebration plans for its anniversary. New events have already started. Namely, one which gives players the chance to unlock the pair of Leon and Eternatus, and three returning Legendary Events to unlock their respective Sync Pairs.

Following this, on August 29, a new version of Pokemon Black & White rival N will be added to the game. He’s already available as part of a Sync Par with Zekrom, but this new version will see him sporting a fancy new outfit and paired with Reshiram instead. More anniversary Sync Pairs are planned, but they’re being kept secret for now.

A new story is planned to start in September and looks to be the game’s own take on the Rainbow Rocket content from Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. It begins on September 15 and looks to bring back several major villains from the mainline games, starting with Giovanni.

Last but not least, players can now scout up to 100 Sync Pairs at no cost. This opportunity is perfect for those who are still missing their favorite characters or have fallen behind and still only have a small selection of Sync Pairs. And be sure to log in now to receive a present of 3000 gems to spend to scout for even more Sync Pairs.

Pokemon GO Getting Galar Pokemon for 5th Anniversary

Everything Announced at the Pokemon Presents Event on August 18

Pokemon GO is celebrating its own anniversary as well, and it’s starting by adding Pokemon from the Galar region, the setting of the Pokemon Sword & Shield games. Some of them had already been announced, such as the Legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta, which will appear during five-star raids.

But a few regular Galar Pokemon will appear too. Specifically, Wooloo, Skwovet, and Falinks. These three will be available to catch from August 20 to August 31. Niantic is also teasing its inclusion of the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa, which is said to be responsible for the appearance of Galar Pokemon.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Receive New and Returning Features

Everything Announced at the Pokemon Presents Event on August 18

And for the biggest news, new gameplay footage and details were shared for the Gen 4 remakes and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, giving fans a little more insight and more reasons to be excited. For Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, features like the Underground, stickers for Poke Balls, and contests will all be coming back, albeit with some drastic changes. The Underground, for instance, is now the Grand Underground and, unlike the original games, players can encounter and catch Pokemon while exploring it. Contests have also been renamed as Super Contests and will feature a new rhythm game mechanic.

The Poke Ball stickers function the same, allowing players to customize their capsules so unique animations will play whenever they send out a Pokemon during battle. One entirely new feature is the option to acquire and change the player character’s clothes, something that was never in the original games. It’s more limited than the customization options seen in Pokemon Sword and Shield, though, as players can’t change individual pieces of their clothes.

There will also be a special Nintendo Switch Lite made to celebrate the games’ release, featuring art of the Legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia on the back. It will release on November 5, a couple of weeks before the remakes come out on November 19.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Shows Off New Pokemon, Characters, and Region

The presentation capped things off with a closer look at Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It takes place in the Hisui region, which is what Sinnoh used to be called in the ancient past. Players will join up with the Galaxy Expedition Team and embark on a mission to complete the region’s first-ever PokeDex.

The most prominent new details were a slightly different battle system that allows players to alter the turn order using new techniques and a few new regional variants and evolutions for pre-existing Pokemon, like Growlithe and Stantler. The footage even shows some wild Pokemon attacking the Trainer, meaning players will need to take care of themselves, not just the Pokemon they catch. The game releases on January 28, 2022.
