There are few games that have traded on nostalgia as much as Final Fantasy VII Remake. Even if you had little to no experience with the original it’s almost impossible to not feel some kind of emotional response to seeing the numerous scenes and moments recreated with shiny new graphics. This goes for the music as well. FFVII has one of the best video game soundtracks of all time and Square Enix made sure to spare no expense on making new versions of those iconic songs. It actually seems like they might have gone a little overboard as there’s so much music that they decided to just throw in any excess tunes as collectible music discs that you can find around Midgar.
If you’re fully aboard the nostalgia train then you’ll probably want to hear all of these additional FFVII themes. But that, of course, requires you to find them. Well lucky for you, we know exactly where you can track down these tracks.
1. The Prelude
The first of the discs is pretty easy to find. It’ll be available to buy from the item store in Chapter 3 when you head to the Residential Area of the Sector 7 Slums. One of the early side missions takes place here so you can’t miss it as long as you have 50 gil to spend.
2. Bombing Mission
While you’re out on another AVALANCHE mission in Chapter 7, you should find this disc at the vending machine located at the Front Gate of Mako Reactor 5.
3. Tifa’s Theme
The first time you go to Seventh Mission make sure to check the jukebox to get this disc.
4. Barret’s Theme
There’s an item store near the train station in Sector 7. Talk to the vendor to buy Barret’s Theme.
5. Lurking In The Darkness
You won’t find this disc until you reach Chapter 15. Explore the first floor of the Central Tower in the Collapsed Sector 7 Plate and you’ll get Lurking In The Darkness from a vending machine.
6. Let The Battles Begin!
Just before you fight an annoying ghost boss in Chapter 11’s Train Graveyard you’ll come across a bench and a vending machine. Much like a ghost, there’s a disc in the machine.
7. Turk’s Theme
In Chapter 14, all you need to do to get this disc is speak with a lady standing by a pond on S6-5 Road.
8. Under The Rotting Pizza
To find the song with the oddest title of them all, just head south in Wall Market and it will once again be stored within a jukebox.
9. The Oppressed
After you fall for Don Corneo’s rather obvious trap, you’ll have to fight his pet monster Anzu . Following that battle, you’ll find this disc in a jukebox – why does this world have so many jukeboxes? – in a break room down in the Sewers.
10. Honeybee Inn
If you do Chocobo Sam’s questline in Chapter 9, you should come by the pharmacy in Wall Street which is where you’ll find this tune.
11. Don Of The Slums
It’s understandable that no one would want to spend more time than they have to in Don Corneo’s basement. But before you leave, make sure to use the vending machine made in his likeness to buy this disc.
12. Fight On!
Go back to Wall Market in Chapter 14 and this disc should now be purchasable from the Colosseum Shop. It’s also part of the side quest The Power Of Music.
13. The Case
While traipsing through the Sewers again in Chapter 14, you’ll get this disc from yet another vending machine in Aqueduct 4.
14. Main Theme Of FFVII
Even people working in an Underground Test Site need snacks, so you’ll find this song in the vending machine located there in Chapter 13.
15. On Our Way
This is also found in Chapter 13 from an item shop in Evergreen Park.
16. Good Night, Until Tomorrow
Along with “Fight On!”, this is part of the Chapter 14 side quest The Power Of Music. A gentleman standing in the hotel lobby in Wall Market has this disc.
17. Farm Boy
One of the ladies hanging outside the Wall Market country bar in Chapter 9 will grant you this catchy tune.
18. Electric de Chocobo
When you’re disabling Sector 4’s sun lamps in Chapter 6, take the platform to get to the control room and buy this disc from a vending machine inside.
19. Costa Del Sol
Easy to find this one, it’s at the Materia Shop in Sector 5.
20. Golden Saucer
Speaking of Sector 5, that weird Moogle kid is selling this disc for 1 Moogle Medal.
21. Cait Sith Theme
Another disc, another vending machine. This one is in the machine at the Undercity Station in Chapter 8.
22. Cosmo Canyon
Head toward a dead end on the Collapsed Expressway in Chapter 9, and you should come across a bench and a vending machine containing this song.
23. Descendant of Shinobi
This behatted merchant will have this disc when you come across him at the Undercity Station in Chapter 14.
24. Wutai
The worker with the beard has song #24. You’ll find him in the Urban Advancement District in Wall Market when you head back in Chapter 14.
25. Tango Of Tears
Doesn’t seem like there’s enough room to tango in the Central District bar in the Sector 5 Slums, but that’s where you’ll find the jukebox containing this disc.
26. Let The Battle Begin! – REMAKE –
There’s a dancing minigame at the Honeybee Inn that you will likely be delighted by. Get 10 Greats! during the tutorial and you’ll be gifted with this.
27. Hip Hop de Chocobo
There’s a dude behind Seventh Heaven with a music player. Ask him nicely and he’ll give you his disc.
28. Stamp
Guess what? Another vending machine! This one can be found just before you reach the Shinra Mess Hall in Chapter 5.
29. The Midgar Blues
You can’t perform at the karaoke bar in Wall Market, but you can at least get this disc from an aspiring singer in Chapter 9.
30. Stand Up
The last song involved in the sidequest The Power Of Music. This one is with a woman just weirdly hanging around in an alley to the left of the Honeybee Inn.
31. Scarlett’s Theme
Likely to be the last song you find, this can be obtained from one final jukebox beside the Shinra Combat Simulator when you reach the Shinra Building in Chapter 16.
