Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has regained custody of her children after Child Protective Services (CPS) removed them from their home following an incident where her husband, David Eason, shot and killed the family dog in front of them. After weeks of battling the courts, Evans has welcomed her kids back home.
The Teen Mom star gave birth to her first son, Jace, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis, on the TLC reality show 16 and Pregnant. Her mom later took custody of Jace after Evans and Lewis broke up. Following their split, Evans was briefly married to Courtland Rogers before dating Nathan Griffin, with whom she shares a son. While the couple was engaged, they ended up calling it off, and Evans met her current husband, Eason, with whom she shares a daughter, Ensley. However, Evans recently lost custody of Ensley and Kaiser after Eason shot and killed the family dog, Nugget, in front of them after it attacked their daughter. While he wasn’t charged with the dog’s death, Eason was fired from Teen Mom 2 and announced on Twitter that his family, including Evans, wouldn’t be returning to the show. Now, the reality TV star has regained custody of her children after weeks of fighting in the courts.
Child Protective Services removed Evans and Eason’s children, two-year-old Ensley and five-year-old Kaiser, from their home two months ago following the incident with Eason and the dog, and Evans has been fighting to get her children back. Now, a judge has granted her custody. However, while she’s thrilled to be home with her kids again, the rest of her family is concerned for the children’s safety. Evans’ mom, Barbara, told E! News the courts “did a great injustice to these children.” She added that Jace was “very upset” about the ruling and will remain in her custody, saying he “didn’t want to go” back to his mom. For now, Jenelle is happily sharing pictures of her children that did return on Instagram. Check out the image below.

Doris Davidson, the mother of Griffith, Evans’ ex who had custody of their son Kaiser after CPS removed them from the home, is also speaking out about the court’s decision. She said her son was an “absolute wreck” because Kaiser is “sheltered and protected” at their house. Davidson added that she and her family were in “shock” over the decision. The couple, who were previously allowed one-hour supervised visits each week with their children during the custody trial, have now regained full-time custody of the children. Despite her family’s feelings, Evans seems very happy to be back with the kids. She and Eason recently celebrated Kaiser’s 5th birthday party together and it seemed as though everybody got along.
However, Evans recently caused a stir due to her posting ultrasound images on social media, sparking rumors that the images were hers and that she was expecting. She recently addressed those rumors as false. Hopefully, Evans’ in-laws don’t have to worry about any more unexpected pregnancies anytime soon or any more safety concerns for Evans’ children. It remains to be seen if this former Teen Mom will ever really get back to normal after all of this drama, but getting her children back is a start.
