Sledgehammer Games has addressed the ongoing allegations being brought against Activision Blizzard regarding toxic workplace culture.

As reported by Eurogamer, Sledgehammer Games acknowledged the allegations whilst announcing the next Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Vanguard, which will be published by Activision Blizzard.

During a virtual presentation for Vanguard, studio head Aaron Halon said, “The stories and the pain people have shared are simply devastating. We love making games. That’s what we do. It’s our life’s work, and we love it. But more importantly than that, we’re all humans, we’re here for each other, working side by side, and looking out for one another in good times and bad times.

“So on behalf of Sledgehammer Games, and all of the teams supporting Call of Duty Vanguard, harassment of any kind goes against everything we stand for as a studio. Everyone, regardless of title, role, gender, orientation, ethnicity, should be treated always with dignity, respect, and equality.”

Halon continued, “While we cannot comment on the lawsuit, what I can say is that as a team, we are committed to making sure all team members feel safe, welcome, and respected. So please know as we start our presentation that these thoughts and actions are at the top of our minds, and will be going forward. They speak to the core values of who we are and who we wish to be. On behalf of everyone on the team, thank you.”

Halon finished the statement by saying, “There’s no easy way to switch gears talking about our game. So please pardon me for the awkward transition. The teams across the studio have been looking forward to this day for quite some time. And they’ve done amazing work. And it’s my honour to be here to share this with you.”

The rest of Activision Blizzard’s reveal for Call of Duty: Vanguard made almost no mention of Activision Blizzard, choosing to say “Call of Duty presents” when introducing the game.
