Forza Horizon 5 launched on Xbox last month to a much warmer welcome than anyone could have imagined. More than one million people played Forza 5 before it had even officially launched, and that number shot through the roof once it was available to everybody. There was even a late push for it to receive a Game Of The Year nomination. The racing game didn’t quite make it, but it is up for some other awards next week.

As well as its stunning backdrops and terrific gameplay, Forza 5 has been celebrated for its customization options. The first question players are asked is what pronouns they would like the game to use, and they can also give their virtual driver prosthetic limbs. The cars can also be customized, of course, but in that regard, there are some very strict but completely understandable limits.

One player appears to have learned that the hard way after a custom-made design for their Forza 5 car has landed them an almost-8000 year ban. The design was shared by a friend of the banned party on Reddit. It is very much a situation of take your pick when it comes to deciding which element of the livery resulted in the ban. It could be the inclusion of Kim Jong-un’s face, the “send nukes” hashtag, the Pyongyang Pirelli logo, or perhaps changing Nike to Nuke.

“So my friend just told me that he got an 8000-year ban for one of his liveries, looks like T10 doesn’t like jokes or something,” the post reads. As highlighted above, Turn 10 would have been responsible for issuing the ban, not Forza 5 developer Playground Games. Other Forza players have been sympathizing with the banned party. One claims to have received similar treatment for creating a PornHub livery, and another for slapping a pro-Trump design on their car.

What hasn’t yet been revealed is if the unnamed player will appeal the decision. It’s also unclear if the length of the ban was a mistake. The year 9999 feels a little like that’s simply as high as the system will go which implies the plan is simply indefinite. Hopefully, there will be an update soon revealing whether it was a mistake or if the ban has been lessened to something more reasonable like 6000 years. As for the rest of you, don’t use your virtual cars to depict world leaders as fast-food mascots or to glorify nuclear war. I really shouldn’t have to say that.
