The folks over at CD Projekt Red aren’t afraid to slip some anachronistic pop culture references into their games. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is teeming with Easter eggs that are related to movies, TV shows, and other pieces of media that Geralt and his crew couldn’t possibly be aware of.

Sometimes the references are at least based on properties that share a similar medieval setting, such as this one that shouts out one of the best comedies of all time, Monty Python & The Holy Grail. Other times, however, we get coy little allusions to popular franchises that couldn’t be further from the world of witchers and monsters, such as this one about a series that takes place in a galaxy far, far away.

In this Reddit post from user novatachyon, we see a screenshot of Geralt talking to a bounty hunter by the name of Djenge Frett. You can find this dubiously named fellow when you reach the island of Skellige. This conversation kicks off the side quest The Sad Tale Of The Grossbard Brothers, where Geralt and Mr. Frett track down the devious siblings and put an end to their sorry lives.

But more importantly than that, it’s clearly a reference to one of the most infamous intergalactic bounty hunters in all of Star Wars lore, Jango Fett. Jango is the man whose genes were used to create the clone soldiers that were instrumental to the downfall of the Jedi in the prequel trilogy. His fame is secondary only to his much more well-known son, Boba Fett.

CD Projekt Red is a company that loves a good Easter egg. The Witcher 3 alone includes several more bizarre references to things like Doctor Who, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, and even a nod towards the pivotal Madonna chart-topper, “Material Girl.” There’s even an in-canon mention of their upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 as Ciri apparently visited Night City during her interdimensional travels.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see how CD Projekt Red handles science fiction as opposed to high fantasy as that title has been delayed until November 19. However, when you think about the high bar set by The Witcher 3, there’s little doubt that the wait will be worth it when the winter rolls around and we finally get to deck out our character with some sweet robo-arms. Who knows, maybe Ciri will show up to be a reference to The Witcher series just to bring everything full circle.
