Despite eight books, three video games, and a tv series, it appears as if the story of Geralt of Rivia is still far from over. A brand new adventure from the world of The Witcher will be told for the very first time this summer in a four-part comic book series titled, The Witcher: Fading Memories.

Fading Memories will be published by Dark Horse Comics, who is known for adapting many other popular franchises to the comic book medium, including Halo, Avatar, and even Alice in Wonderland. The team will be in close collaboration with the developer of The Witcher games, CD Projekt Red, and will be written by Bartosz Sztybor and Amad Mir.

The art style is also worth mentioning, as the cover, created by Evan Cagle, is stunning, to say the least. Not only will this series appeal to those looking for a compelling story, but we’re guessing it’s going to be pretty damn good to look at as well.

The story of Fading Memories appears to take place years after much of what we already know. According to the brief plot introduction, there is a serious monster shortage across The Continent, and Geralt is even beginning to consider a new line of work. Then, the mayor of a small town requests the witcher’s help in stopping Foglets from kidnapping the town’s children.

Although this sounds like a standard job for Geralt, the comic hints that there is something much more sinister at play than a group of Foglets. What might start off as something resembling a side quest in The Witcher 3 will likely evolve into another unforgettable fable in the long story of Geralt of Rivia. Or at least we hope so.

The Witcher: Fading Memories #1 will be officially released on June 17, and is currently available for pre-order wherever comics are sold. As far as everything else in the world of The Witcher, the second season of the Netflix show is currently in production with an expected release date in 2021. The Witcher 3 is also experiencing a resurgence, thanks mostly to the show, as well as its recent rerelease on the Nintendo Switch.
