Moving Out is a furniture removal simulator coming to multiple platforms in 2020, which means developers have officially turned every single activity into a video game.

Gamers often get lumped in together when being talked about or referred to by people outside of the video game world. Considering the vast and diverse arena the gaming world has become, to paint everyone within it with the same brush is borderline ridiculous. Some like GTA V, others prefer platformers like Crash, and a large group plays nothing but sports games such as FIFA.

The one thing many gamers have in common is they play to escape reality. The strange thing about that is some people find the best way to escape reality is by placing themselves in a virtual one that is somewhat similar. That’s where the wide, wide world of simulators comes in. Gamers can be a train driver, theme park owner, surgeon, or if they are feeling particularly out there, a goat.

The gaming industry is quickly reaching a point where there is pretty much a simulator out there for everything, even the most mundane of activities. That has been confirmed by the creation of a game called Moving Out. Moving Out is a furniture moving simulator and no, we are not joking. As is detailed in the trailer below, players are faced with 50 levels of increasing difficulty they will have to work their way around with fridges and couches in hand.

All joking aside, Moving Out actually looks pretty entertaining from the little we have seen of it. Moving house might be one of the most stressful things known to humankind, but when the worry of breaking valuables and scratching walls is removed then turns out it can be pretty fun. Plus, players can play co-op mode with up to three friends and customize their characters to have toasters for heads, because why not?

As for when simulator and furniture-moving fans can get their hands on Moving Out, there’s a little bit of a wait, but only a short one. Eurogamer reports Moving Out is scheduled for release on April 28, 2020, on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Between now and then, you’ll just have to satisfy your moving itch by actually shifting some furniture. PIVOT!
